I still think we should complain about all the toxins they are releasing into the air when they do this burning!
They are burning platics, shellacks, varnishes, who knows what other wood treatments, and lead! Plastics release toxins when burned. as do most varnishes and lead, well, shit shooting it into the ground kills childeren, so releasing into the air....hhhhooooooeeeeeee. They outa be droppin' like flies. They are killing my childeren by burning these guns!!!! I demand it be stopped!!!! Don't burn the guns, for the childeren!!! Give them to me instead. |

Anyone complain to the EPA? They actually came to our house and made us turn a car around because the tailpipe was pointed next door! I could not believe it! Sadly, here in Cleveland, they take confiscated weapons to the steel mill for melting under guard. A pal was such a guard and he couldnt even pinch me a part.

To burn them outside in the open, they would have to file for a burn permit and also put together an environmental impact report for the E.P.A.
They might get an exemption though. My bet would be that they will crush them or cut them into peices and then melt them in a furnace where the temps are so high that complete combustion occurs and very little toxins would be released. Those toxins that are released could be removed with a scrubber or filter. |

Seriously though, while I don't really think they are going to burn our guns on the 9th, that is the start date of the U.N. conference on world small arms control in New York City.
While I don't think it's time for armed insurrection, I do think it's time for some action. Perhaps a letter writing campaign, some positive media coverage or a MMM-like march or series of peaceful and organized protests throughout the nation. Yeah, I know, but I can dream. |
