Well, can a lady say such a thing and still be considered a "lady"?

However, over time as I've noticed some men of AR15 whom I would otherwise consider gentlemen using the phrase I've become somewhat accustomed to it.  In my eyes it has taken on the meaning of telling a person to go to hell or any other such colorful metephore.

1)Sure. In my world, which I like very much, a lady has to do much more than that to loose her status.  Just because she uses a bizarre phrase from a weird gun site doesn't mean she lacks character, etc.

2) Just because we gentlemen use it here doesn't mean we'd use it in polite company. This is the internet after all. Watch the Red vs. Blue video on it for further comment. Personally, I curse here every so often, something I simply don't do in the real world with women about. This is different because I consider this place something like a bar, where you can relax the regular rules of the world (which are pretty strict, again, in my world).

C'mon, Lumpy, aren't there things that go on in other areas of our lives that we get used to even though it isn't right.  I can name several things that go on at the detention center that wouldn't be to cool if mentioned here...so getting used to seeing SIIHPAPP on the board isn't all that terrible, is it?

So it is such an awful and foul phrase it shouldn't be used by male or female?  Ban it?  For the children?  oops there's another one.

Please elaborate, I've often enjoyed your posts and would like to hear your opinion on this.

I started using the phrase that shall not be said in daily conversation.

I dont qualify for gentleman status.  I drink too much, cuss too much, smoke occasionally, and generally hate the world most days, but one thing I never killed off or let die is my sense of chivalry.

Therefore, I wont use the phrase.

That is all the reason I need to never use that phrase.  Thanks Lumpy!    You'll never read it in my post ever again.

Oh, now I get what you were trying to say--since you put it that way.  By the way, seems like you, myself, and a couple of my buds at work have a lot in common!

First off, in the real world people sometimes use 'colorful' language.  I think it is importanat for women as well as men to know when and in what company.

I don't believe you or any lady using that particular phrase would offend many men here because as has already been stated we have a pretty laid back crowd so no worries here.

However, I also believe that you (and I know this from reading many of your previous posts) have enough sense to judge when it would be inappropriate. So relax kick your shoes off and don't worry about it, I don't think many men will ask you to turn in your ladies card.

Of course you will have to be the judge as to how the other 'ladies' will feel about it.....

That just about sums it up here as well.  I think i've posted it a grand total of two times, both times abbreviated....and looking back on it it was two times too many.

New acronym for the Arfcom females? DACMBFHFWARSASIIHP I think simply because you considered this that your lady-card would have to remain intact weather you use it or not.
Detached a certain manly bit from his form with a rusty spoon and stuffed it in his pooper

Persephone,

If you can say something such as THIS:

Quoted:

Had any man said such a thing to me, I might have detached a certain manly bit from his form with a rusty spoon and stuffed it in his pooper.

In fact, I have even found several circumstances where I might use the phrase myself!

I see no reason whatsoever that you should worry about the use of the other phrase, m'lady.  Clearly, you are not above it all.  The only bit you left out was the posting of photos.

Although I don't perscribe to using this particular salutation myself,  I must respecfully say that you are quite nearsighted if that's how you percieve the satatement "In Your Eyes".

To the guys at ARFCOM, if means exactly what it says - no less (perhaps more, but not in the eclectic plane you are on). - Raunchy bunch, these guys.

But you can still be a "lady" an use that phrase in certain contexts, Persephone.  jmo

I think it follows all other rules of ettiquette, such as drinking a beer or smoking a cigarette. It would be something to not be done in mixed company, either way. Unless the mixer is kin.
