No, not the mauser, steyr, nor StG44 cartridges... the film format.

I got a hankerin' to get me an old 8mm or super 8 movie camera (not Hi-8 video). What can I say? I like old cameras.

Probably gonna get me an old silent Nikon, B&H, or Kodak, and the cheapest Ebay projector I can find.

Anybody got experience with this old format? Anybody like it? Hate it? Feel that unless I want to suffer hassles beyond hassles I better find a 16mm?

Is it possible to develop the newer Kodak Tri-X and Plus-X reversal films with regular chemicals like HC-110?

Nobody knows? Not even our resident shutterbugs?

Oh, this is sad.

All I know about 8mm cameras is that we still have ours and my dad stopped using it circa 1996.

All of my photography is 35mm stills or digital.

Good luck, crappy resolution, difficult to find equipment and expensive to repair.
If you want to do film go 16mm, way more stuff available but DV is still cheaper.
DV has tons of stuff and plenty of programs to edit with.

That was a creepy movie.

That's all I know about '8mm'.

Way back when, wasn't all of the old porno movies done on 8mm, before the advent of home video tape?
