I am not a fan of Turkey....it's generally not as tastey as other things.  So this year I offered to bbq something up for the family.  Now some jerk is telling me how great turkey is etc.

So I'm just curious about the rest of you....which would you prefer?

Fry the Turkey, in peanut oil, and some ham with lots of salt.  BBQ is good too,  just get both.

I don't like Turkey. Greece is better.

Out of the choices, Pulled Pork first.

Fried turkey would go will with it though.

Dude, are you seriously asking this question? Have both, Turkeys are what four dollars this time of year for a fifteen pounder?

Seriously, get both, it is the only way to go.

My preference would be BBQ, but Turkey is a must for Thanksgiving. I will not eat Christmas dinner with my inlaws, because they have Lasagna on Christmas, and no ham, turkey or duck, and that is just wrong. The last time we wen tfor Christmas dinner with them, we got there early I asked why I didn't smell any traditional favorites, they started on about the damn pasta, I went to the store bought a small Turkey breast and cooked it myself.

It looks like I will be going out to my uncles in Thomson for Thanksgiving, there will probably be three turkeys, two deep fried, one baked, as well as BBQ, and probably a couple of deer roasts, but i have already eaten so much deer this year, I don't know if I will eat any of it.

Turkey (smoked) and a Mash brand butt portion ham (baked).

Barbecue is a summer food at our house.

I don't care much for turkey, either, because it's usually dry from being cooked too long. I always snag the drumsticks. But I gotta have ham. Now, that deep fried turkey is some good shit!

No Turkey = No Thanksgiving.   Only communists don't like turkey... now... ask yourself:

Are you a communist?

Christmas should be accompanied by Turkey AND Ham...  but there is some leniency here and you may be downgraded merely to "socialist" if you opt for the ham.

Pfft, Thanksgiving is a nationally legislated holiday.  Turkey is a marketing gimmick for the poultry industry.

Why not both Thanksgiving and Christmas?

I'm not saying turkey shouldn't be on the table, I'm just saying that lobster should be on the table as well.

Turkey at Thanksgiving is following West Point tradition.... as a result of WWII, many more people were exposed to it.

Before you deep fry in peanut oil besure to poll your family & friends to be sure there is no one that is allergic to peanuts. My 10 year-old nephew is allergic to peanuts, and breaks-out when he even gets near anything having to do with peanuts.

How about a baked ham for those that don't like turkey?

I'm not a big fan of turkey....but since I'm almost never the one cooking the meal, and I can live with turkey & I'm grateful for a delicious meal regardless of the occasion.

If I were cooking the meal, I'd probably go with prime rib & a ham. BBQ....seems a little casual for my liking, and I eat it all the time anyway....for a special occasion, personally I'd go with something a little less casual.

Whatever I take to work with me. Working a 12 night shift at one of the gates.
Got the same thing for Christmas dinner too. Plus the day before and the day after. Both holidays.
