"The Hunt for bin Laden"  by  Robin Moore (didn't care for "Hunt for Saddam" by same author):  Special Forces in action in Afghanistan.

"Band of Brothers" by Stephen Ambrose:  Everyone knows this one.

"In the Company of Heros"  by Mike Durant:  Personal account of chopper pilot shot down in "Blackhawk Down".

"Rainbow Six" by Tom Clancy:  Ficitional (???) multi-national counter-terror team takes on the bad guys.

All three WWII books by Donald Burgett :  1st-person account of an 18 year-old 101st division paratrooper's experiences in WWII.   Even better than Band of Brothers!!!

Hey, this thread reminds me (HIGHJACK!!!). There was another thread that mentioned good tactical (non-fiction) books related to guns. Anyone have a link to that thread?

Oh, and a good military book?

"Good to Go," by one of the original Seal Team members (Seal Team One or Two, I think). Great read.

Death in Silent Places by Peter Capstick is not about military but has some firearms in it.  Moreso these are great stories of the Hunters of the early 1900's.  Pretty incredible stuff.

should be able to find it used in paperback too as it's been around.

"Marine Sniper"-true account of the late USMC Gunnery Seargeant (Ret.) Carlos Hathcock's experiences as a sniper in Vietnam. A great read about one of our nations greatest, and least recongnized, heroes.
