Shooting the other day with a buddy and had a major malfunction in a .45 Glock.
He was shooting some "Houston" brand reloads.
He fired a round that had the bullet in the brass backwards, it stuck in barrel, lucky not to far in, he couldn't completely chamber the next round.
While attempting to eject the next round manually he had to really push on the slide, which resulted in the slide "sticking" in the rearward position and it was a bitch to get straight.
He commented that he had threw a couple away that were loaded backwards while filling magazines.

WTF, OVER?

What, was he loading mags with his eye closed wearing leather gloves?  How do you get a round into a .45 with the bullet in backwards, given the way the mags are shaped at the front?

Weird.

hell I'm from Houston, never heard of that brand,  the bullit in their backwards shouldnt of made it stick, they've been doing that for years, I think it's called a keith round, before hollow points they did it, supposed to be a meaner wound, accuracy of course is shot

Somehow, that bothers me...

Okay, take away Rule #1, because that's just a personnal preferance.  The other two rules are accurate.  #3 being most important.

I agree with #3 very strongly, as with #2 if you limit the number of times the brass is used, and its not a lead bullit then your fine

I'm also from the Houston area and never heard of them.

I will admit that I have shot reloads for YEARS from a place in Texas City.......T's Ammo.   Pretty decent sized outfit and they sell primarily ammo.  Never had a problem with it and will buy it before I buy Wolf.  Nothing against Wolf but brass casings and FMJ rounds come before coated or lacquered steel cased stuff.  Again, I'll shoot both but prefer brass/FMJ rounds thru my nicer guns.....that , ......my friends , yeah my friends guns.  Unfortunately I lost ever thing I own in tragic safe/boating accident.

I did make the mistake of buying some reloads from a vendor in San Antonio that has a history of "shit' ammo.  I come to find out after talking about it to another outfit.   In fact it was the first time I (personally) experienced a FTF / FTE /FTFeed all in the same batch.  I stoppped trying in less than one mag.  I'll try and remember the name and post it for the Texas Region Members.

T's has some of the BEST ammo I've ever shot.  I wholeheartedly recommend them.  Very high quality stuff,

Well, I've heard of doing that with revolvers, but in an autoloader?  45ACP of all things?

I used to get stuff from Mr tippton, but I got some of his 223 and the damn bullit jammed in the case when feeding in my AR, he doesnt and will not crimp them, if I had fired that round it would of detonated my Ar, I also saw his ammo do the same thing when I was shooting at the pasadena shootinf center, but that time the round did over pressure and is screwed this guys m4 up

North Houston/Shenandoah.

I buy their .357S, 9mm, .32ACP, 5.56 Match and .308 Match.  The .308 stuff rivals Fed Gold Medal in accuracy from my PSS and is about $5/20 cheaper.

South Houston/NASA Area (here)

I pretty much have just bought 9mm, 45acp and 5.56,(damn I need a .308.....).

I have seen this exact thing from these people.  I bought a bag of 100 and about 3 of them were loaded backwards.
At one time they had quality products but, the original owner passed the business to his son and I don't think the guy understands nor appreciates the business.
Needless to say, I have not bought from them since.
