Newegg is my favorite electronics vendor. I became a fan a few years ago when I started building my own computers. One of the best things about them is if you order the OEM version and they run out, they typically upgrade you to the retain version for the same price. Everytime I order a CPU from newegg I order the OEM version, yet I have received the retail version probably half the time. |

Nice. I placed an order with them on Wednesday night for a new keyboard, an 80gb SATA hard drive and an external hard drive enclosure. Keyboard and hard drive arrived on Friday. The enclosure shipped from their CA warehouse so it's not getting here until today. They're about the only computer parts place I'll do business with these days. 100% reliable and the fastest shipping around. |
New egg rocks, but that card is pretty weak. Always consult the AR15 crowd before the purchase. Im sure it ll run alot of your stuff. But HL2 and Doom 3 wont even run unless at min resolution. Im still pissed cause my new dell came with the new PCI express Radeon x300. I thought surely if its new PCI express x16, itll run those. Wrong, So Ill be going to new egg for a new vid card as soon as i get paid. Ive got to be able to play HL2 when its released . Its got to be the best graphics ever used in a game.

Filling out a warranty card or registering your product is not required to use the warranty. It's just a way for them to collect data on you. The only reason for doing it would be if you tend to lose recipts. |

I've been using Newegg for a few years now. They've always treated me right. I think Newegg is the old Egghead.com. That company used to be my vendor, then something happened to their site. Newegg went up sometime later. Somewhere along the line Egghead's domain was purchased and another group started using it. EDIT: Ah, Amazon.com now has Egghead. They've truly become the Walmart of the interweb. |
9600XT is a decent card for the money, not everone wants to drop 300+ on a single component. And my 9600XT plays doom3 just fine, with a P42.8 and a gig of ram |
Newegg and egghead software are not related. I already looked into it, egghead was my fav software store in the 80s and early 90s |

I recently ordered a DVD drive from them, the item was in stock and was supposed to ship right out, I ordered it in the morning, I was disappointed, they sat on the order for several days before they shipped it. It took a week to get the item by 2 day shipping. I was thinking about it later and realized how spoiled we have become, I have ordered from other vendors and gotten same day shipping, receiving the items in 2-3 days, they only took a week so it wasn't really bad, but it was slower than I thought it should be. |
you're giving me advice and you bought a Dell? 2 rules for buying PC equipment (unless you have more money than sense) 1. never buy the newest, fastest hardware 2. see #1 and Doom 3 sucks |
Dude: I got a dell? F yes! go to google and type dell coupons codes, then look for tech bargains dot com. I got a dimension 8400, with 3.2 ghzHT, 160gb sata, dvd-r cd-r, 17" LCD TV, 1GB 533mhz DDR2, Audigy 2, Media Kit loaded for $1503 w/free 2nd day shipping. The only f' Up was that i thought the Radeon x300 would be fast enough since it was PCI express, Wrong, ill get an x700 or x800. Any way Techbargains got me 41% off the price with a coupon, and the LCD TV for $300 off. I used to build all my machines, the last was a 2.8ghz, abit board, 1gb mushkin pc3200 2-2-2.5, 160GB, I know how the shit works. ![]() Oh yeah, Doom 3 sucks - Agreed Id rather have unreal tournament, or HL2 |
| Newegg used to be outstanding, but they've been slipping a bit recently. When I first started ordering, as long as I've gotten an order in by 1-2PM EST, it always went out the same day. And since I'm fairly close to their shipping center on the east coast, FedEx usually got it to me in a day, even with the Express Saver shipping. However, the shipping time has slowed up in the last year. Most recently, I placed an order early yesterday morning, and it still hasn't gone out yet... Still definitely good prices and good service, but not as excellent as they once were. |
