Anybody fans of Oliver Stone's movie "Platoon"? I have seen it over 150 times and have the entire dialog memorized. Not a day goes by at work that I don't have the opportunity to use a quote from the movie. Pretty weird, huh?

Not really, but Ive seen each one of the Star Wars movies at least 100 times a piece, except the new one. I probably went through it about 50 times and the tape started wearing out. Ill wait till the DVD comes out now, I dont want another tape. I usually have an opprotunity to use a quote from one of those movies about every 10 minutes.

Good shooting and "stay on target, stay on target!"

Oliver Stone gets NONE of my money.  He put out a movie that reinforced all the worst of the Vietnam vet stereotypes.  Mebbe he and Hanoi Jane should hook up.

Had no idea how accurate the movie was...FMJ that is.

The story behing FMJ was "The Short Timers" by Gustav Hasford. I read it in the coolest literature class ever at Ga Tech - Bud Foote's "Vietnam War in Literature"! Gotta have classes like that for us libertarian/conservative engineering majors! Take it if you can - took me four years to get scheduled for it! [8D]

I didnt like it for the same reason.  Message i got from the movie was that vietnam vets are a bunch of undisciplined, pot-smoking, village-burning, murderers and rapists.  IMO the movie does not do the vietnam vet any justice by painting them all as criminals.

Stone knows the truth, he was in Viet Nam. He has dis honored the memory of hundreds of thousands of men who served and thousands of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice. I also would bet that Stone was a REMF!
