I have a serious problem. I woke up this morning and tried to go here but my computer has went crazy. Everytime I try to open a web page it takes me automatically to some worldtracker web search instead. For instance it lists the web page as AR15.COM:: Forums on the internet Explorer window but instead its at this dad blasted world tracker search page. Then after the page is loaded in the status bar at the lower left it starts telling me that its loading various adult porn sites. But they arent loaded on the screen they must be being loaded somewhere else. I have tried the cookies folder but nothing there. I have scanned the computer 3 times with spysweeper and 2 different anti virous programs and cleared cookies but to no effect. I only finally got on here after trying to load the page about 10 times. I dont know what to do. I think it is probably a Trojan horse but I have no good trojan removers at this time and need to get one but everytime I try to search for one it takes me to this BS search page and starts loading porn to God knows where. I could use advice of any kind and prayers would also be appreciated -Lock ETA: Its fixed. Thanks for all of the advice it really helped. next stop? A personal firewall!

| I would go over to a friend's and download spybot, adaware, the latest AVG, and a good free firewall (I like Sygate Personal, other people perfer Zone Alarm), restart the computer and put it in safe mode, disconnect it from the internet (ie: unplug the modem), and install and run the programs. |
| Congrats you have a trojan. Might be Cool Web Search. try going to symantec, if it will not let you I think it is CWS. You will have to download cws shredder on to a floppy form another computer and load it from there if it is cws. If not cws I dont know what ya got. someone here might thoug |
| You need better help than you are likely to find here. Google removing trojans. There are discussion boards dedicated to it. You will probably need a program called Hijack This. After you run it, save the output, and one of the guys on those forums can tell you how to proceed. Good luck. |
| One of the better programs ive used is Stinger. Its a virus removed I think made by Mcafee and its fixed me several times. its availible online free. Use the CWS shredder and hijack this as well. Id run anything you can find on it. some of the viruses can embed themselvs and can not be removed. Ive got a HD not that im working on for a friend that i think is toast. I wrote 0's to the entire HD and then tryed to reinstall 98 and all i get is a windows protection error, must reboot. Ive tryed 3 operateing systems and nothing works. This HD was loaded with viruses and trojens when i got it to work on |

Looks like you're on the cutting edge of being hijacked! Google only found half a dozen references to worldwhatzit. Doesn't look like anyone has a solid fix out yet. http://forums.net-integration.net/index.php?showtopic=23311 You can, however, run Knoppix and Morphix in the meantime. ![]() http://www.knoppix.net/ http://www.morphix.org/ Sheesh. What does it take for people to just TRY it? You'll probably love it once you realize it means you'll never unknowingly get infected with a virus again. (Well, ok, some day someone may come up with something -- but it'll only last until you reboot!) Or, hey, just get Mozilla/Firefox, and run that for the time being. You might still have spyware all over your machine, but at least your web browsing probably won't get hijacked for a while. |

Click Start, Run, type 'msconfig' without the ' click on startup tab on far right if you see the program that has Hijacked your comp, uncheck it and reboot if you don't see the program that has hijacked your comp, uncheck all of them and reboot This should do it. Good Luck |

They are on the C drive in a folder called restore. I dont have the complete location yet though. Ill be working on it and will try some of the programs listed. ( i already tried stinger but it didnt work Ill keep yall informed. Again thanks for the help. |
