The people were protesting against the Shah. Carter told the Shah to take a vacation and then him and the French sent Khomeini in. Hardcore Islamist rule is not that different to communism to the average person. Islamist use religion as the basis for their rule and talk about how they were ordered by god to control the people. Like these other shithead countries they live like kings while the people suffer, and the country's wealth is used to spread the shithead ideology beyond their borders. In this case decades of sending untold billions to the Hezzies, Hamas, Houthis, and various Shia militias. And all the weapons programs they've bought or developed. The people there are tired of suffering so Khomeini and his followers never go without while they've lived under oppressive rules and seeing their wealth given away to terrorists. |
