Iran Official Happening Thread: Operation Epic Fury (Page 2 of 744)

How much of pre revolution information is passed down to the younger generations I wonder from those who lived it. The internet probably helped open the eyes of many of what life could be like again in that country. Was Iran like China in memory holing pre revolution life or do they just outright say westerners are the devil and that’s it. |

It's GD: Time for uninformed predictions. (I was at 1 in 10 this would happen, I'm up to 1 in 3, with a rocket) • This takes about 2 weeks to unravel. • US forces move in at the tail end to secure nuke reactors, storage sites, drone factories, key oil infrastructure, maybe central bank. Probably try to save the police, actual Army, Republican Guard has to go. We have to move before Russia. • Old man bugs out to Russia. • Several thousand Iranians shot/beat to death by the old Guard. • Once the dust settles, Starmer offers UK forces. • Russia, I dunno. That's their neighborhood. But we aren't giving them a free hand in this. • Mossad on the ground gives us great info, though we'll never know about it. • Democrats blames Trump. For something. Corrections encouraged. |

Turkey borders Iran on the Tehran and Kurdish side of the country and Erdogan is going to be freaking out over the Kurds possibly carving their own country out of this. He's been rattling his saber at Israel over Syria and Israel may be a huge winner from an Iranian counter-revolution, he'd rather see them preoccupied and constrained. He's got a big army that isn't too busy and domestic problems he'd like to distract from. I'm not saying he'd seize Tehran at the head of a tank column, but he's likely to poke a few sticks through some spokes just when things look like they're going to turn out okay. |

| Also reporting that Iran may attack Israel to try and change the crisis. If any of the Mullahs attempt to flee to Russia I hope Israel is watching and attempt to shoot down those fleeing, even if on Russian aircraft. |

He's not escaping to get away from a religious revolution. On the gripping hand I can't imagine the leaders of other Muslim countries want another Muslim leader with a lot of money and clout hanging around in their own country rousing the rabble. |

The Communist Party was pretty strong in Iran and they were allied with Khomeini. Once the revolution was over, the Communists were either killed or imprisoned. |

Yeah, I don't expect him to make it to his destination, due to either "bad" fuel or departing controlled flight, resulting in a rapid unscheduled disassembly of the aircraft. |

I imagine lots of those young folks were raised on stories from their grandparents about the good old days. Anecdote: At my previous employer, a large, very woke tech giant, I had a younger colleague in my area of expertise who was Persian. He might have been 30 when he was hired c.2018, so was not around for the Shah. Very nice guy, sharp, personable. His ~80 year old father was still in Iran fighting cancer. I'll never forget the morning after Trump hit Soleimani. I was always at work early to beat some of the traffic. About an hour into my workday this young guy comes guardedly excitedly into my cube (4' walls with glass panels-zero privacy in the work area). He takes a quick look around to make sure no one is in earshot and then beams at me, pumps his fist, and says "yes!" He was so happy that asshole was taken down. I hope there are many thousands like him in Iran. Incidentally, another colleague in the adjacent cube was a Kurd from Turkey. Very nice fellow. Never figured out his politics--I guess he was used to keeping his head down. |
1 On the eleventh day, protests expanded compared to the previous day, with demonstrations increasingly taking place during daylight hours. Videos show greater organization and larger crowds. 2 Bazaar merchants went on strike in 28 cities across Iran. For the first time, Tabriz, Iran's second-largest bazaar, joined the strikes. The trend suggests that bazaar strikes may expand further in the coming days. In addition, workers at the South Pars gas refinery a vital source of regime revenue walked off the job. It remains to be seen whether strikes will spread to Iran's oil and gas sectors more broadly. 3 35 deaths have been confirmed. After Lorestan with 7 killed, the highest tolls were recorded in Kermanshah (4), Ilam and Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari (3 each), Fars (2), and Isfahan and Qom (1 each). Analysts say video evidence suggests the real number of deaths is higher. 4 In a threatening video message [second video below], Ahmad-Reza Radan, the chief of police, alongside Judiciary Chief Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Ejei, declared: "I promise that we will deal with the rioters to the very last one." Both individuals are sanctioned by the United States. Israeli sources told me that on the final day of the war, Israeli jets were on their way to kill Ahmad-Reza Radan, but the war abruptly ended under U.S. pressure, and the jets were ordered to return. 5 Some videos show limited hesitation and passivity among regular police forces when confronting protesters. However, IRGC, intelligence, and Basij units continue the crackdown. Analysts say defections and passivity within repression forces could play a significant role in the expansion of protests. Some also note that threats by Trump and U.S. senators may not be insignificant. 6 Regime media reported the execution of an alleged Mossad spy in Iran. Dozens of people face execution on accusations of spying for Israel without due process. Analysts say the regime is using executions to instill fear, terror, and deterrence. 7 In an unprecedented move, Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi has called for nationwide protests on Thursday and Friday. His message on Instagram the most widely used platform in Iran has been viewed almost 70 million times on Instagram alone. Given Iran's population of roughly 90 million, this is an extraordinary figure. [picture attached below] 8 While Iranian diaspora networks widely covered the protest call, the new head of VOA Persian was the only major outlet that refused to broadcast it. Many Iranians on social media have tagged Kari Lake, contacted members of Congress, and appealed to American influencers to use their influence to end the boycott of the Crown Prince on VOA. 9 State-controlled media, in what analysts describe as a familiar regime tactic, are accusing protesters of burning Quran shops, assaulting ordinary citizens, and vandalizing public property. Reports have also emerged that the regime is seeking assistance from Iraqi militias to help suppress protests inside Iran. Iranians on social media are calling on the U.S. government to pressure Iraq to prevent such intervention. P.S. Nighttime protests are expected to continue for another two hours, and protests usually intensify after dark. More videos are expected to emerge over the next four hours as protesters return home. |

The younger generations have parents or grandparents that lived when Iran was a prosperous Westernized country. If the Ayatollahs are driven from Iran, I think a transition back to the West is much easier in Iran than Iraq or Afghanistan. |

I have a friend who was IRG and escaped from Iran. He was also a Muslim but was converted to Christ. He lives in the US now. He says the young Iranians and most of the nation actually can't stand Islam or the ayatollah. They want freedom. My friend Mohamad Faridi Attached File |
"Great nation of Iran, the eyes of the world are fixed upon you. Take to the streets and, in united ranks, shout out your demands.
