I have a Nikon Coolpix digital camera I have been using for about 18 months or so. I took a couple of pics yesterday I would like to post on this site, but I keep getting a Communication Error when I try to transfer pics from camera to computer, and additionally the upload process does not automatically start when I plug in the cord, as it usually does. I have to hit the transfer button on the camera, but it still does not work. Any ideas, or comments? Thanks. |

FWIW, usually a nice Windows restart will clear up communications issues with my camera. Other than that, look for a troubleshooting section in the back of the camera or software manual and see if they have any step-by-step procedures you could try out. Hope you get it going again. Alpine |
| Damn the same exact thing happened to me yesterday I have a coolpix 4300. I was trying to download the pictures from knob creek this weekend. I read the instructions and went to setup on the camera and selected I believe the transfer method other than mass media storage device. Something like that. Well after I changed that I loaded them up fine. ? |

Start the program on the pc and try to find the camera file transfer command in the software. Are the pics jpeg on the camera or do you need software to convert them to a readable file ? What is the storage media, is it only on the camera or do you have removeable memory ? |
+1. I transfer pics from my camera to my pc using a card reader. It is much much easier. I use this one. Only $28 from Amazon, free delivery. |
