I wonder what the new progressive language will be after migrant. They hated alien and changed it to "immigrant" which then was so associated with illegals it became taboo, and sounded bad because it meant someone was living in a country without being invited. But people like birds and were generally ignorant about Cesar Chavez' stance on illegal aliens, so they went to "migrant" that brings on ideas of people moving freely or doing field labor to improve themselves. Now everyone gets that "migrant" is just illegal alien again. Like progressive to liberal to progressive again, just manipulation of language to message something no one wants. |
