3.  U.S. weapons sold through our FMS program allows the U.S. to exert influence over those nations who may otherwise work against U.S. interests in those regions.

4.  FMS is a good way to advertise the superlative quality and capabilities of U.S. weapons designs and associated support, which helps to deter conflicts by mitigating against miscalculations by adversarial political or military leadership.

With the F-35, there’s no question that the U.S. maintains a competitive, qualitative technological superiority over other nation’s export sales.

Fuck the Middle East, they aren’t our friends. We shouldn’t be selling them anything.  I see a lot of folks who think it’s ok because they are down graded versions. You don’t think those planes can still be used against our non stealth aircraft or ground forces.

We have been selling weapons to the Middle East since the 1950’s or so how has that worked out for us, besides making the defense industry a shit ton of money.

Fuck Canada as well, they have those sticky little hands from all that maple syrup, not to mention those goddamn geese that they have illegally crossing the border and always shitting in our parks!

This doesn't even budge the needle on my give-a-fuck-o-meter.  Let em buy planes, parts, and tech support, all at a premium.  Wouldn't it be nice if Lockheed could milk the rest of the world for profits to our benefit instead of the other way around?  IT's not like we don't have more F35s than the whole rest of the world combined anyway.

Trump is getting a tower in Jeddah. He and his son in law have made billions from saudi arabia. Trump is the cheapest whore we've ever had in the white house.

Saudi operates russian air defense systems, we binned the deal with turkey for that exact reason. Saudi also has a tech partnership with china. But as long as dear leader gets a tower then its totally worth it. His cult can make an annual pilgrimage.

Maybe they can even license it out so china can build their own.

We have zero to gain from saudi buying f-35s, there is no shortage of customers.

Last time we agreed to an arms deal with Saudi Arabia, they "randomly" gave $2 billion to Kushner's investment firm afterwards. It was kind of a big story.

If you’re a theocratic state and your religion explicitly states that lying, cheating, and stealing is totally ok, if it’s directed toward folks outside your religion, you should be on the no-sell list for anything even close to being sensitive.

The pentagon are concerned about this. Saudi has a tech/security partnership with China. Saudi also operates russian air defense systems- we refused to sell f-35s to turkey for that very reason. The MSM has every right to complain. We have nothing to gain from this, kushner and trump will make more personal deals with saudi arabia- those are the only people who will benefit. Its so pathetic to see people try and defend every little thing that trump does. Hes an idiot who only cares about himself.

Lockheed will do FMS with authorization, but I think that authorization is ultimately up to Congress.
