Ed,

We need an ignore button for the trolls, we gettin knee deep in them here lately.

That might keep some of the conversations in gd from going to hell.

Its a shame you had to even make this thread. Its a private board with well known rules. If you dont like the rules take a hike or go look at some of our " Sister boards " and see what happens when the inmates rule.

I will let you in on my Ignore button. Its was tough at first but with practice its becomes 2nd nature. Idiots, troll and even some members I will not respond to or post on their threads. I use my brain and decide who I will not respond to and I keep to the list.
Its the hardest when a moron/troll or member needs a smack down but all that does is give them what they want ATTENTION so I refuse to play their silly game.
That how I do it.

Take a step back gentlemen and think about something .....

The person that started this controversy, is absent from this thread ( although not unexpected IMO ) and has not even posted so much as a "Thank you Ed Sr for your input", when he was/is so adament for an answer.

What does that tell you ?

What has happened is the shit pot was stirred and then the stirring party backs out and lets others carry the flamefest to heights of discourse through the site.

for those that dont like the way the site is setup and run, take your own six figures of personal funds, and build your own site and do with it as you see fit.

The rest of us will stay here and enjoy the site for what it is. One of, if not THE best sites, for information and personal exchange. Along with building the reputastion as one of the most respected cyber boards in the firearm community

I think it's more the arbitrary locking of threads and especially accounts. Ar50troll spoke to thebeekeeper1 and had an agreement, then GB locks him and won't reply to emails. Others preach hate make threats but since they are the "In" crowd thay are immune to similar prosecution.

Do you have an example of a recent thread I can search on? Any title information or who the thread author was? Do you remember what the thread was about?

There’s going to be occasional arbitrariness here.

Some days GB gets up on one side of the bed, some days it’s the other. Same with the moderators. Who cares!

Ed thanks for posting this.

Frankly i thought this was publicly settled when i crashed the other night. All of the involved parties <except one who was not even involved in the threads> seemed happy. Funny thing is that the owner of the thread in question had no problem, and after a few IM's back and forth completely agreed.

Oh, well. Just another day on ARFCOM.

Thanks Ed. I don't post much but I can appreciate what you're doing. I for one appreciate the No-porn aspect of the site. I get tempted to look at the stuff and it's nice to have a place to hang my hat without the temptation factor.
