That's a lot of fluid replacement.  If he is stable enough to be flown to Germany sounds like they got all the holes plugged, or at least the big ones.

If you get a mailing address, let us know.    He might not need the "Care" package  goodies the guys out in the sand and dust do, but he and his buddies could probably use some reading material.

i want to thank you ALL for your support for Jarrett.  here is an email i recently got from his father...........i only hope he doesn't mind me posting it for all to see

Jarrett,

I just wanted to thank you for the posting on AR15.com regarding the recent injury and wounding of our son, SSG Jarrett Jongema, who was stationed in Iraq.

His condition is listed as "very seriously ill, but stable." He is in the Army hospital in Germany and may be flown out to Walter Reed in Washington DC on Friday or Saturday if he remains stable. We only know that he has a broken left leg and shrapnel wounds to the right chest. His wife and son are currently in DC waiting for his arrival and she updates us when she hears from the Army.

We deeply appreciate all the thoughts, prayers and kind words of encouragement from everyone.  When I get more news on his condition I'll pass it own.

Thank you all and God bless and protect those who are still serving there.

Ronnie Jongema (father of SSG Jongema)

SSG Jongema is my brother in law. As his father Ronnie stated, his condition is listed as seriously ill, but any details are still largely unknown to the family. his wife and son were to be flown from DC to germany today to be with him. we have no details other than what has been previously stated.

the entire family would like to thank the ARFCOM family for their hopes and prayers, as well as all the thoughtful comments on this thread. please keep them coming. this thread is veiwed daily by the Jongema family.

deepest thanks,

30CAL

dang computer has been crapping out every few minutes it seems for about a week.  i just now read the post.

mega-prayers incoming from this household.  "Thanks for your service" seems a weak response - "Thanks for protecting us" maybe is better but its all i can offer - like many others, if more substantial things are needed, please post.
God Bless you and Keep you and your family SSG.

30CAL AGAIN

ok.
SSG JONGEMA is in DC. His wife and child are with him. unclear on what degree they have all got to communicate with him. his wife has talked to him in person. his mother is on the way  about 0900(SEPT28) or shortly after to see him also. She will BE HAND CARRYING A PRINTOUT OF THIS THREAD, among other get-wells and thankyous befitting an N.C.O. in such a position.

SSG JONGEMA was told on SEPT 26 of the amount of people in the world who are pulling for him, and he shed a tear.

Being a very capable NCO, as well as my brother in law, as well as a brother in arms in the war on terror,  30 CAL has the utmost  respect and  concern for the 2nd gen. patriot.  His father served most proudly and is one of the few people in my world back home who can relate to my experiences as a paratrooper. Jongema's father was a BADASS too.
SSG  Jongema, Jarret is a man in the greatest sense of the word. When he graduated high school, he decided to persue a career in the Army instead of an art or computer  career.  Each time he re-enlisted he knew that his men depended on his leadership and training.

As i am a paratrooper, SSG Jongema is a LEG i would follow any anywhere.

GOD BLESS ALL ARFCOMMERS< AND THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT.
