That's a kick ass pic! 82nd asked me not to post that little poem or whatever it is but I thought it was cool and might be appreciated by some. Anyway, its good to see other Airborne supportng their own. Hooah! |
So you did it anyway ![]() SWEEET!~ |
That sounds suspiciously close to a creed. Is it an official creed? |
You're sooo gay. Airborne, good to the last drop. TRG |
In my opinion Band Of Brothers is the best mini series that will ever be produced!!!!! |

Heard on the news a few days back some stuff about Market Garden. Although its a diff country, the British Paratroopers took about 93% deaths or so in Market Garden. Out of 10 000 dropped in, 700? survived. My Grandfather was in the Para Regiment later on I think. He was in Palestine at the time as part of The Black Watch Regimen me thinks. |
Operation Market garden was a huge success. if the Brits bore the brunt of the casualties then I would honor them and remind the audience that, although few, those lives were significant. The Brits earned much more notable Merit than that of Market Garden. |
The poem was cool but you posting it against 82nd's permission isn't. What Airborne unit were or are you with? |
I was also with the 82nd. Chuck and I are friends and he can punch me in the gut if I fuck up. It goes both ways. I just thought that was too impressive to just sit in a computer file and not be posted. My actions were to promote his idea, not to be disgraceful. |
Outstanding! Is that the Golden Knights? Cool pic! Thanks! |

No just me skydiving. FREE

Now I understand. Thanks for the update. It does make a difference. Went to jump school in 1967 myself. |

Yea yea pick on my chute. I had to borrow a chute because the reserve chute in mine was otta date ( must be repacked every 120 days). It wasnt a bad landing considering that I had not jumped in 8 months when the pic was taken. FREE

And by the series alone you had the true meaning of a Band Of Brothers was given by a captured German General addressing his troops at his surender! Both sides felt this bond! They were a band of brothers just fighting the wrong War! Great movie!!! Great accounting of the 506th! And 101st! Bob |

In the reduced # of causualties. My mistake for not making that clear. The operation was abandoned and an evac was ordered. The jump was uneventful (good thing). My perspective on "success" was that of the insertion only. Thanks for pointing that out. |
Wasnt a bit sucessful for the British. They jumped too far from the bridge and the paddocks they jumped into had dug in tanks, guns, etc in the woods which lined the paddocks. They got massacred. |
