.600 Nitro Express has BATF approval as a Title 1 firearm, last I heard.
Quoted:
Moof, it's not what you think. With the permits we can use our rifles (including in defense of life and property, CA has strong home-defense laws) for protection, shooting and hunting. There's nothing in the F&G laws that forbids the use of a centerfile rifle for hunting purposes - I've used my AR-15 for deer hunting for years in the CA National Forests. What the permits let us do is use our weapons outside of our homes without fear of being arrested. Other than the SKS fiasco of Bill Lockyer, not one registered AW has been confiscated. Please do not make things seem worse than they are. |
That's the best place to start! What better firearm to ban than one that is fairly rare, which very few gun-owners have ever owned or shot one and which isn't used to hunt duck or deer. Now WHO would oppose that? {crickets} One-by-one, state-by-state, slowly-but-surely one firearm at a time. |
Quoted:
The good news is, you can keep it if you register it. When the Hell is "Registration" ever good news? Registration is just an appeasement that leads to "Confiscation." PERIOD... |
Your really not serious right? |
Mac nailed it (as usual). The AWB shows that going for a bigger "community" with firearms owners isn't going to get what they want. The .50 is now banned in California and you WILL see other states jump on the "California leads the nation" HORSESHIT and have 50 bans written up within a few months at most. Beware people. California gun-owners just took ANOTHER one up the ass. Please LEARN from this. Please do whatever you can to stop the INSANITY that will be knocking on your door very, very soon |
The problem for us is there was no way to stop the insanity. And that will continue to be the case as long as RINOs and democrats run the show. I have no hope for this state in regard to firearms. And with demographics the way they are today, Republicans will never control this state again. I am all for fighting, but this state is a lost cause.
It does seem to allow new registration. Of course so would having a .22 version. The Ammunition Tax is dead. It was stripped out of legislation but the fingerprint stuff is still there for handgun ammo. .....even you "duckhunters" have to do a little dance for your handgun ammo. None of this non-sense matters to out of state ammo dealers who ship to CA as best I can figure. |
The "thumbprint for ammo" thing will probably cause Wal-Mart to shitcan their sales of it in the state. I can't see them bending over that far. Couple that with the fact that gun sales are still suspended it's another HUGE victory for the fucktards in Sacramento that are making this place look more like the good ol' CCCP every day.
FUCKING FUCK!!! First .50s! Now necrophilia! WHEN WILL IT STOP!?! |
I think you can get an AR upper for it from ferret50 for about 2k. |
Um...are you talking to me? What I think about AB50 is irrelevant. That's why, if you take the time to read it, you won't find an opinion in my post. I merely brought attention to two excerpts from the law as it's written (which are relevant, thank you very much). ETA: edoc draob |

I wonder what ronnie barrett is goingto say. I wanna see him put his two cents down. he's going to tell California to fuck off.
What a fucking asshole. I wonder if Arnold is gonna register his 50 cal rifles?
he should stop all sales to le. focus only on civilan sales. let the .gov sweat it out. |
I think Ronnie WILL tell them to FOAD. He's been really "in their face" about this shit and I doubt he'll miss the business too much.
A M82A1 is in my future plans, not because I can ever see a "need" for one, but Barrett has been the most outspoken voice against this insanty, more than willing to put principle ahead of money. That kind of person we need to support until it hurts. We could use a LOT more like him in this country right now. |
You could get the M82A1 now... minus pg |
Damn, when will it stop?
CA is lost. Between this crap and the illegals taking over, CA will be under full-blown communist rule in a matter of a few short years. And it will spread, as always. Arnolds sucks. |
I think thats what he said he would do.. correct me if im wrong. |
What can I say.....all you guys who voted for Arnold got what you deserved. Lesser of two evils still gets you F'd in the ass.
Haha, who is going to be the first loser to buy a FAB 10 piece of crap and out a ferret 50 upper on it?
12.7x109??? (Russian version of 12.7x99 (50bmg))... The AR-50 is available in it, and the technical caliber is .498, IIRC And technically all it would take to do a 'conversion', IIRC, is a chamber reamer... |
Lets try and contain it please. Hopefully it will serve as flypaper for liberals. Explain how your state is so backwards with lack of progressive legislation banning scary looking guns and restricting emmissions on those evil internal combustion engines. They'd better move to CA so their kids will be safe. |
First we had to get rid of Davis via the Recall. 65% of the voters went for Ahnold & McClintock. Next, we'll get rid of Arnold. Baby steps. Even if it costs us the .50. This state was FAR to the LLLeft. Believe it or not, Ahnold is a huge improvement. The pendulum will continue it's return from the Far Left. And all you unhelpful motherfuckers saying 'Move' and yanking the chain on your reflexive CA-bashing can shove it. |
From his letter found here
And also from another of his letters
Edited to add 2nd quote and to say I wish I had the $$ to buy one of Mr Barrett's fine rifles and support his business. |

Fuck YOU |
Dumbass. Problem is, there are too many "gunowners" just like this one. |
Run along, troll. I've had about enough today between listening to all the lies regarding the AWB sunset and now finding out about Arnold's insanity. |
Piss off, LOSER! |

sorry guys. i retract my previous statement- as of now i realize the ignorance of it. for the record this is the first negative comment ive ever recieved. all im saying is that in cali everything is so high priced now, and although the .50 cal is one dopeass weapon, i myself can in no way in my life ever afford it. would i like one? who the hell wouldnt. does it personally affect me because i cant buy one? no. and only b/c i know i cant afford one. maybe the "i dont give two fks" was a bit harsh and dumb. but am i affected? no. thats all im saying.

No can do, we have a 60/30/10 Dem/Repub/other voter reg here. The Dems win just based on voter reg alone. Bill Jones who is Sen Fienstein's oppenent on the coming election hasn't got a snow ball's chance in hell. The only way to get rid of her if she dies in office, or she gets tired of toying with the little people. |

Just when I thought he couldn't possibly be any more of a tool.

the way I read it, the fucktards have defined very clearly the cartridge and said the rifle that was specifically designed for this cartridged.......so change any of the parameters of this cartridge, and not call the upper you just built or got a .50 BMG, and it does not fit the description of the law.
short term way around the lunacy..... for instance seat the bullet or file off the end 1/100th and it no longer fits the definition of this assinine law. the rifle is a little more difficult, but where there is a will there is a way........ and any one who lives under the stars and stripes of our flag is affected by this....make no mistake, just because "you cant afford" this platform, it still opens the never ending revolving door of registration and confiscation of the platforms you can afford....and may already have......it is that bad. (26) As used in this section, a .50 BMG cartridge means a cartridge that is designed and intended to be fired from a center fire rifle and that meets the following criteria: (A) It has an overall length of 5.54 inches from the base to the tip of the bullet. (B) The bullet diameter for the cartridge is from .510 to, and including, .511 inch. (C) The case base diameter for the cartridge is from .800 inch to, and including, .804 inch. (D) The cartridge case length is 3.910 inches. (E) It is a centerfire cartridge of .50 caliber or .50 BMG. (27) As used in this section, ‘‘.50 BMG rifle’’ has the same meaning as set forth in Section 12278. Pilk |

Heard that a lot. I'm thinkin it's probably why he DIDN'T win. Would I rather have Davis or Bustamante instead of Arnold? I might save a few bucks on taxes with Arnold, but overall I'm not seeing much of a difference. P.S. TSK! TSK! Personal attacks! |

I hate to say it but between the socialists and the illegals (and their supporters in the form of MEChA and the Aztlan-ers) the state is fucked.
Grayout was our "Lurch" execept he got caught as a fucktard AFTER he was elected the second time, outright lying about the state deficit by BILLIONS only to get elected and then saying "Oops, my bad" AFTER he got back in. I'm 46. I was here when Reagan was Governor. Those times will most likely never return. This state will continue to slide into the abyss. If Arnold had not run we would have ended up with "BustaMEChA" in charge and then all hell WOULD have broken loose. Any semblance of restraint on the part of the illegals and their supporters would have vanished overnight. The only way to have stopped it would have been the Feds choking off the purse strings. Somone earlier in the thread said "flypaper". I frankly think that is what is needed. Since so damn many lunatics in the nation seem to think that California has all the answers to all the problems we face, let's send them here. Hell, the place already has checkpoints set up on all the major highways into the place, we just need to make sure that OR, NV and AZ set up ones ON THE WAY OUT to keep the nutwads inside the asylum. I apoligize in advance to all the California people here willing to fight. I've lived most of my life in this state but never became politically aware until after 9/11. I just don't think we can win this one. Trying to swing this state to the right in the coming decades is going to be impossible. Too many democrats, leftists, socialists, soccer mommies, envirowackos, illegals, hippies and just plain sheep with their heads firmly implanted in their asses. Did you see that link I posted a few days ago? (www.dailynews.com/Stories/0,1413,200~20954~2388909,00.html). Over half the people in L.A. are functionally illiterate and these are the same people that keep Democrats in power here. They can hardly read or write and are living in one of the most expensive places in the country. These people are a Democrats wet dream. Millions of voters that will ALWAYS want the State to take care of them because they can't even begin to do it themselves. Sorry to be so "doom and gloom" but this place is just a couple of steps away from The Death Spiral. We stand a better chance digging in and holding the line elsewhere. Trying to stay here and fight is like starting the Pacific Campaign in WWII by attacking Tokyo on December 8. |

rayra & G-Rated: There is no winners in this debate on the gun issue anyways. This is the classic, stuck between a rock and a hard spot.
The 50cal folks are partially repsonsible for this fiasco. Way back 10 years ago, I discuss this BS with members of the So. Calif. 50 Cal Club, they poo-poo'd the idea that "their" gun was an "assualt weapon" shoved me out the door. Well, I was right, with just a few changes here and there using Cali-fornia's AWB laws, and volia! Their guns are banned and they don't own it anymore. |
You guys are going to be so screwed when 'someone"figures out that you can mount a .50 cal BMG upper to your one round / pump / blocked 10 round / fixed 10 round / nutered AR15's.
SEC. 7. Section 12278 is added to the Penal Code, to read: 12278. (a) As used in this chapter, a ".50 BMG rifle" means a center fire rifle that can fire a .50 BMG cartridge and is not already an assault weapon pursuant to Section 12276, 12276.1, or 12276.5, or a machinegun, as defined in Section 12200. |
At least they specificaly targeted the 50 cal BMG round.
If the gun grabbers had been thinking, they could have left it at just .50 cal. Then the Beowolf, .50AE, muzzle loaders, and dreaded S&W 500 would have also been on the list. |
