Wow RMGO needs to get their facts straight. They were sending out emails saying Saturday was their last meeting.

RMGO post said it was "likely" the last meeting... But there's still 3 days left.

I guess it's unlikely (but not impossible) for a bill to move from where it's at, to getting passed before the end of session. Make no mistake, this is exactly the sort of thing that passes at 11:59 pm on the last day of the session, as they all run away from the Capital.

HB24-1270
Firearm Liability Insurance Requirement
Concerning a requirement that firearm owners maintain liability insurance, and, in connection therewith, requiring insurers to make coverage available in homeowners and renters insurance policies for damages resulting from accidental or unintentional discharge of a firearm.

This one however is being worked on Monday.

And I agree they could do it last minute which while this thread is more of a hypothetical until the session is over.

I want to believe, but I'm too old to think that tactically planned shit can't happen at the last minute.

I'll believe it's dead when I can smell the rot and see parts falling off.

This is what I'm thinking.
Need to do a spare-no-expense AR build and then get a few cool guns to go along with it.

Iowa used to do a final budget /catch-all / lump everything left Bill to pass in the final days of the Legislature. It was meant for mostly finance but they could ram something through on it if they wanted.

They’ve been chomping at the bit to get rid of TABOR. They pretty much bypass it by calling everything a fee right now.

Not officially scheduled for today at the State, Veterans, & Military Affairs committee.  They have a different bill (non gun bill) that is scheduled for today and interestingly, that bill was introduced to this same committee yesterday.

How do you know that. They more than likely will do a Illinois type. No parts. Illinois was not a fluke or just Illinois lawmakers. This was backed and made so convoluted on purpose. It will contian a registry.

Right now they are allowing sales of stuff that is banned by definition.

Why do you think that is. Oh that wasn't meant. So your good to go. A couple years and thousands latter hey that not legal

Sound familiar.

We where idiotic saying gun control was a state issue. Throw away the lib run states as long as I got mine.

Look at Virginia and I suspect Arizona is not far behind Texas.

One by one.

The waiting period nonsense is the worst since the "mag ban" IMO.

The FFL one is going to suck.

The insurance bill is just going to be ignored. Unless I'm forgetting something, the others are mostly meaningless lefty feel good nonsense as well. For now.

I tapped out at 4. SFAR is probably the most interesting one. I wouldn't mind a FAL, but the prices for those rifles and mags right now, just aren't worth it to me.

Anything good?

That's what we thought in Illinois, then in the 11th hour, they replaced the entire text of a Insurance bill or something innocuous with a full awb.  So far the courts have been bought and paid for by the other sids, so lawsuits have been ineffectual..

I'm not looking forward to see how all the dimwits vote later on, I just have this feeling they are going to pass that fucking tax bill. Yay more taxes upon the BS taxes I already pay for firearms and ammo in this state. The insurance bill is just as you said, a feel good BS bill. What are they going to try next, require proof of insurance to purchase a firearm? That was my exact thought when they first brought it up. They even admitted during the hearing that the insurance companies said they have no idea how to even begin addressing this silly shit.

Yeppp, that's one I am not looking forward too. An extra 6.5% on top of state and local taxes, so imagine paying an extra 16-17% on a 1000 dollar gun. And you know damned well that money isn't going to be used what it's intended to be used for. These dingdongs just want to make it so expensive nobody can afford it if they can't ban it.

Does anyone have the details on that? I've not seen anything. I'm guessing they would apply that to ammo as well.

Property taxes were figured on the passing of the bill to kill tabor.  When it failed, the whole state had to go back and redo all the property taxes at a lower level.  Heads should have rolled over that fuck up.
