Install new ruler of Iran, betray them, install new ruler of Iraq, betray them.. It's sort of a pattern. I guess the exception is Syria, where the .gov supported one side and the CIA supported the other, so both sides used US .mil equipment. I suppose that's one way to not lose. |

Seems like trilateral posturing with maybe a hint of Russian pot stirring. https://www.thedailybeast.com/serbian-presidents-alarming-social-media-warning-stirs-mystery-in-europe "President Vucic knows well that any use of force against Kosovo would be unacceptable, would be regarded as putting in danger the NATO troops," Assistant Secretary of the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs Jim O'Brien told reporters in a briefing. Vucic's vague warning to Serbians comes after a UN High Representative announced changes to the electoral process in Bosnia and Herzegovina earlier this week. The announcement was blasted as inappropriate by Milorad Dodik, the leader of Republika Srpska, a self-proclaimed Serb republic in Bosnia. "If you go after that, then we must take measures, and we have said what measures we will take," Dodik, who has previously called for a "unification" with Serbia as part of an effort to unite ethnic Serbs, reportedly said. Dodik met with Vucic on Wednesday, ostensibly to discuss an Easter celebration. Vucic said that by Orthodox Easter, "we will prepare a number of important and beneficial decisions for our people." It's not clear what impact any of Vucic's statements will have for Bosnia and Herzegovina, though. "Vucic thinks of Dodik as a liability," a U.S. official told The Daily Beast. In a report released just last month, the U.S. intelligence community assessed that Dodik's threats about secession could lead to "violent conflicts." https://www.newsweek.com/serbia-vucic-putin-war-ally-1884047 "Mikovic said: "There is no military threat. Nobody will invade Serbia, and I don't expect Serbia to launch a war against the U.S.-backed Kosovo, as that would be a suicide mission. Also, at this point, I don't see a potential for a large-scale destabilization of the region that is deeply in the Western geopolitical orbit." |

View Quote In Bosnia, they have a triple presidency, made up of a Serb, Croat, and Bosniak member. This is so that each of the three ethnic groups in that country has representation. The Serbs certainly, during the war when Yugoslavia broke up, tried their best to take more territory in Bosnia, aided by Serbs in the Yugoslav nation army coming from Serbia, that’s how I remember it going. The three president model is a way to peace in Bosnia between the different ethnic groups, with the power sharing model. |

Gosh, I wonder if there’s any linear connection between the US taking an anti-Slav, pro-Muslim stance in the former Ottoman Balkans (as directed from a certain large peninsula), and Russia becoming further disaffected from the West after the collapse of the USSR, and the ability of certain corrupt individuals there to form an entrenched kleptocracy in the resulting international isolation, that was further compounded by Western picking at old irredentist wounds, that eventually manifested as a war in Ukraine?

so, did anything happen? I didn't read about any revolutions or mass murder or ethnic cleansing in the (heavily redacted, slanted, biased) news.
