| when was this scope designed? |
|
the pso-1 was designed for the dragunov svd rifle, which was adopted in 1963 (development of the rifle commenced in 1958). the pso-1 features 4x magnification, an illuminated range-finding reticule and a passive infra-red light detector. it was preceeded by the pu optic, and prior to that by the pt and vp telescopic sight units. these can often be seen fitted to ww2 and post ww2 era mosin-nagant 1891/30 sniping rifles. |
