hi I got a new Bushmaster 6 months ago and I wanna put a scope on it.  I been saving my money from work to buy one and I thing I want one of those acogs you guys keep talking about.  Or maybe I want an AK, they're tha bomb too.

anyhow, I just take it to the range and shoot cans with it and stuff.  But that acog looks liek a really nice scope.

First you talk about wanting a scope, next you want a rifle? Doesn't make sense...

I'm just sayin what do you think would be a good scope - that acog is major bling but it's a lot of money.

You can buy about 4 AK-47s (or were you talking about some optic with "AK"???) for the price of an ACOG which is about $1000

Is the Bushy your first gun?  If so, learn to shoot it good with irons, then get more guns, then move to optics.  A scope won't make your shooting "better", only you can with practice (i.e.  a few thousand rounds of ammo at the range)

most will disagree with me  but here it goes anyway...

you dont need a scope... you can live without it and your weapon is still just as deadly..< assuming you train with it .. and understand basic marksmanship skills..and not just try to bump fire every time at the range  >

my vote is get that AK .. then get "cool" stuf for your money pit whore...

but I do agree with you on the looks thing ...

Keep your first rifle SIMPLE.   KISS = Keep It Simple Stupid

The next AR you buy should be your "fun" gun... work on Irons!

Congrats on post 500!!!

I would spend the money you are thinking of optic or AK on for ammo and rangetime/practice instead of more stuff you can't use good.

Guys, the question is "What's the cheapest ACOG-like sight that would work with my airsoft gun?"

USMC is going to issue an optical sight to every front line unit. And I hear they are going to suppress their weapons, although how you suppress a full size M16A2 and still use it indoors I do not know. Still no official announcement about suppressors though.

Well.. it seems some of us have been there done that thru the Corps and we seemed to have managed just fine without an optic....

you trying to tell me we have been doing it wrong this whole time? < how old is the USMC again ? >

The Corps is 226 years old, IIRC.

AARs from Mesopotamia conclude that magnifying optics increase single shot hit probabability, decrease the liklihood of collateral damage, and allow leaders to quickly focus on a distant area. The Marine Corps has fallen in love with optics.

OK .. thats all good and true...

but for the  orignal poster I still say.. get good with the irion sights.. then get better ... then get the scope if you still want it ..

or just get both....

Optics can be great, and the Marine Corps probably does love them, But you will find few Marines who can't hit with the iron sights. You don't drive a Ferarri without learning how to drive a Ford.
