Posted a few times but dont know how to remove the posts I see people editing their posts by adding "delete this."

You can't. You can remove the original content with an edit, but you cannot delete it. Staff can delete entire threads, but only if they have <3 posts in them--hence the "delete this" you have seen. It was one of the "improvements" in the new site.

Actually, some members just edit out the text and replace it with a “.”.
