| in the mail tomorrow, and a little something for W, too. Who's with me on one or both? |
|
I donated to Ed Laning instead www.laningforcongress.com/index.html GW has enough cash that the little i can spare wont make a bit of difference. His friends with deep pockets will take care of him. |
| keyes really does seem to run on his principles. i can respect that. plus i think the debates and just hearing him get his message out there is outstanding exposure. and if he were to win or even make a strong showing, it would have a huge national impact. he'll be getting some money from me. |
I'm gonna say what nobody here wants to say (this is not exactly my own opinion) Few, if any, white people want to see a black man ever set foot in the oval office as President. If it happens, he will be assinated by a GOB. This is just the way things are here. It can only be a white man as president. I'm ashamed to the truth myself, but thats just what it is. |
Well, would you be ashamed to say what the FUCK you're talking about? Keyes is running for the Senate. |
I've watched Keyes for a few years. I'd have to have a guaranteed income for life before I debated him about anything. |
My mistake, I thought he was running for President again. I guess they scared him off.

I just got done watching his Tivo-ed piece on Hannity and Colmes. He did a lot of "justifiying" on his right to run in Illinois. Had I not followed him and his principles over the past several years I'd say he was full of excrement as his arguements for justifiying his eligibility were vague to the masses and therefore weak. However, I feel like I know him better as he is the only politician that I have been truly impressed with in my politically aware lifetime and try to make it a point to watch him when i can. I want Keyes for President in the worst way based on what I have known about him and the way he presents himself. Hopefully, he will win...and it will serve as a stepping stone in 2008 for election. |
| He's a very stand up guy. Not saying that he's not going to win but the Repubs need to have something lined up for him in Gov't if this doesn't go our way. We definitely could use someone as principled as Keyes is working as a man of the people in our Gov't ( another Ambassadorship maybe?) |
Sorry, but thats the dumbest thing I have heard since the 60's. Was there a time? Yes. Are their still some guys flippin cuz their little girl has a Usher poster up? Yes, but guess what Mom votes too. The demographics have changed, Jim Crowe is dead. He never had the credentials. Only spoke as good as Slick Willie. Hitlery is off getting prep school,, same thing Keyes must have. Now, do the GOB's feel that way about womenz too? |
i concur. JC Watts will be a very strong candidate IF he will run in about 8 years or so. |
Like I said, I dont feel that way myself. Just an opinion I know some people strongly hold on to (even secretely). ![]() But I will admit publicly on ARFCOM I was wrong for saying that when a non-white president is elected. Of course I may have to pass that legacy on to my great, great grandson. Edit to add: I heard rumors that the only reason Colin Powell didn't run in 2000 was that he received numerous death threats. Anybody know for sure? |
some...no doubt.
iirc, he cited deference to his dear Wife Alma. HOw he didnt want to put her through it. |
It would be nice if the race is half-way competetive. If Keyes has some $$$ he can at least get his message out, and piss off the liberals. He ran here in MD and you never heard about his campaign. Since the incumbent socialist was going to win by 20 points they never even had to advertize. Having said that I hope to donate to good senators in close races like Thune in SD and Coors in Colorado. Florida is another important Senate race. GunLvr |
