Sleepy FBI agent charged with DUI after fleeing police Associated Press Posted July 21 2004, 2:40 PM EDT TAMPA -- An FBI agent is facing DUI charges after she allegedly was found asleep in her car at an intersection, then tried to flee Clearwater police, officials said. Court records show Elizabeth Scott, 37, had a blood-alcohol level of 0.183 percent, more than twice the legal limit. She was released on $5,000 bail. ``The FBI takes these allegations of conduct very seriously,'' said FBI spokeswoman Sara Oates. She added that an internal review of the incident would be conducted, but revealed little else citing confidentiality. Police said Scott fled when they approached her vehicle on Saturday night, then arrested her when she became stuck in traffic. |
Maybe. I have two friends who have DUI convictions. One's a trainer at MET life, the other is a mechanic for the DOD. Neither lost their job following their arrest, or conviction for DUI. Should people be fired from their jobs for misdemeanor violations of law occuring on their own time? |
If your some type of law enforcement officer, yes. I don't want a drunk with a gun. CRC |
If the job is LE, absolutely. I have no respect for an LEO who won't obey the law all the time. To me, they are merely another thug with a gun. |

Should people be fired from their jobs for misdemeanor violations of law occuring on their own time? mostly...no. 15-20 years ago, nothing (and i mean NOTHING) ever came from a dui. in this case, no harm and no foul. now, the willfully fleeing? she'll pay for that one, i think. |
