YOU may think that those radical muslims are actually following the devil, and I may as well, (and I assure you, that's EXACTLY what I think...), but THEY probably think they're following God and are doing GOOD works. They've been deceived by the devil. Still, there are too many versions of god for me to choose any specific one of them. I want the real and total truth, not the truth as told by fallible humans. your priorities are screwed up. You should be above your family, how can you protect your family if you are all messed up? I understand sacrifices made for family, but that is not what i am talking about. and since you priorities are now shown to be messed up, you might want to rethink that God is not #1 thing again. basically you are saying to God- I'm not gonna do what you say until you do what i say. God wouldn't be much of a God if he was so easily manipulated, would he? |
No, actually he just proposed an absurdity, in the hopes of luring a response. As the previous poster stated we are now under grace, the price has already been paid, though I do see the validity of your point. No additional debt is due, so God won't be asking anyone to sacrifice their Family. God IS #1.

Your absolutley right. He kills babies, allows millions to suffer incredible pain and hardship, et' al. Lately, it has been incredibly hard for me to believe any gods exist, or over existed. |

Family comes first, and by that I mean children. A person who survives at the expense of his children is a loser in the survival and evolutionary senses. A person who dies in the process of protecting his children, and they survive as a result of his actions, IS a winner in those senses. Your children are more important than you are. I would say because God tests men for a learning experience. God does things to build faith, character and to witness to others. Since a black guy with hot sauce does not appear to do any of the above, I would say God was not the motivator. |
In practical terms, what exactly do you mean when you say God is #1? What impact does this have on your daily life and the life of your family? Does God talk directly to you? Do you talk directly to God? If you talk directly to God, does God answer you? Does God every directly tell you to do things or give you exclusive information? Inquiring minds want to know! |
OK. fair enough. 8 years ago I was looking for a new Job. I had been told by my surgeon that my current source of income would lead to a life in a wheel chair in 10 years. So I decided that wasn't cool, and I should follow his guidance. I was grabbing the classified from friends, and relatives to search out a job, but was having no luck. The jobs were there but I wasn't getting the call. So I prayed. God did answer me. Now here is where you'll have to follow close. God said to me, you cannot reap what you have not sown. Go BUY a paper. Look in the classified and call the first add that catches your attention. Apply. You will be hired and succeed at that job. I did as I was instructed. I bought a paper, and immediately a large add caught my eye. I applyied to the address with a resume. I was called back within 24 hours to an interview. When I arrived there were at least 50 people waiting to interview for the position I was applying to. The room was full of people who had arrived before me. Within 10 minutes I was called from the group to the HR rep. I spoke to her for about 10 minutes and was told I was just what they needed, my skills were perfect, and to report to training on Monday. I went on to become an operations manager, then a sales manager and eventually a district manager for a very large firm. I no longer work there, but that experience has brought me success in later positions, continuing to today. True story. God is # 1 |

Go somewhere alone if your ashamed and Pray to him and see and feel his presence. WHEN they hung our MASTER on the CROSS he did not say I hate you for doing this to me .. He did not say I will get even . He said " Forgive them Father they know not what they do" SATAN had Me confused now I pray ceaseless. Anyone is welcome to believe what they choose . That is your born rights !! It says in the KING JAMES bible among others that HE (LORD) thinks of us more times a day than the grains of sand in the desserts! How can he pour his blessings out on someone who does not even acknowledge HIM?? Does not ask him to bless them. Hates him for what Satan whispers is the Lords fault . The fundamental point is that if my relationship with Yahweh, my Heavenly Father, is not right it will affect all other relationships. Being in tune with Him enables me to be a proper husband and father. Also, the First Commandment tells us to have no other gods before Him. The principle goes beyond concepts of Buddha, Zeus, etc. It means that we are to put nothing above Him. Fundamentally  , worship can be defined as a declaration of what you value the most. For a reality check, take a look at your daily schedule and your checkbook to see where you direct the bulk of your resources. Ouch!
