I think Hilton don't allow guns in Texas. The thing is, about all they can do is ask you to leave. If you don't leave, then they can get you with criminal trespass. If you don't, it's limited to a $50 fine (and your room rate I guess).
Now I don't know about individual hotels of different chains - googled Hilton's policy online. |

It's easy to armchair quarterback with hindsight, but oh man, at 2:20 when you told them to leave your room (an extension of your home) and they specifically refused to leave, you should have placed them all under citizen's arrest for trespassing, called the real police, and not opened the safe until they showed up.

I thought those were cops.
They look like Vegas SWAT They dress that way on purpose to scare and intimidate people into complying with illegal searches |

Quoted: Absolutely no interaction with casino security whatsoever during my entire stay. I showed them my room key as I passed to go to the elevators and asked one where to find some black coffee that was cheaper than $6. That was the entirety of my interaction with any security. As for why I was trespassed from the casino but not the hotel? I do not know. I asked. They refused to justify beyond "It's private property" and they refused to provide a written trespass for me. So, to toss all that BS aside, I went one street over and got a cheaper room. I do not know why I was targeted, I was nothing but a gentleman nerd at the conference, and largely kept to myself. I understand that this is a VERY large dartboard and they just happened to hit my room. Fucked if I know why. View Quote Did you gamble at all in their casino? |

With the exception of the Trump Hotel, Las Vegas just is not friendly territory anymore. Freedom oriented conventions should take their business elsewhere to friendlier states at this point.

I know people who stayed at The Wynn and were searched almost every day when returning from SHOT Show. If anyone gave security attitude, they were threatened with being thrown out of their room.
NSSF doesn't care. They care a lot about gun rights, just not during their show. |

OP(allegedly)brings a firearm into the hotel. Why does the guy insist that you told him you had a firearm? Violates casino policy (allegedly) and is asked by security (pretends they are cops) to check it. |

Quoted: Op does not help himself when he says he waited in the hallway in his boxers while they searched his room yet cannot remember the reason the suit gave for the search. Op continues when upon being trespassed, asked why and was basically told "because we can" and did not ask why ( or forgets that too ) Guess what - Those two answers would put the whole thing into context. Legal question:
Can Hotel employees/security physically search your property? Not talking opening the closet, safe, drawers (hotel property, which I’d assume is dependent on state/local laws) but actually looking inside your suitcase, unzipping pockets on backpacks, etc. I’d assume any threats to restrain you would or actually do so if you’re not being aggressive would be considered assault / battery. They’re pretty much limited to ‘leave now’? |

Shocking level of assholery and unacceptable conduct by the hotel employees. I never even checked hotel firearm policy before but seeing this I will from now on, and any hotel that specifically rules out firearms in the room and/or requires the guest to "check-in" guns will be immediately disqualified. I stayed in Vegas before but not at Caesar's Palace. Given their policies and the way they enforce them in this video I will definitely never stay there.
All businesses hostile to liberty must realize it's going to cost them. I'm not sure they care though... If any of the security guards or management who work there happen to be members here and read this, y'all need to pull your heads out of each others asses and unfuck your organization! If you think this was fine, you're a miserable assclown. |
