There are millions of 2.7’s out there with no issues at all, this will be corrected but it’s unfortunate that it happened to begin with.

Jeep sells over 200,000 Wranglers a year with ZERO competition, that’s the market Ford should be focusing on. Instead they’re letting the Bronco flounder with problem after problem and the only thing driving sales at this point is the fact that it’s the new kid on the block.

So companies shouldn't use their resources to make things that will sell well? Lol.

The Bronco Sport is a great update to the Escape it's based on and fairly competent off road for about the 99th percentile of people. But yes keep being butt hurt.

Please share your field issue resolution experience as a Ford employee or Ford supplier (responsable for the failure mode) employee before stating Ford is letting something flounder.

Depends on several factors - the bad parts may be P/N specific to the Bronco/U725 platform or they might be common with the F-150/P702 platform but only used on U725 designated engines. For example, the turbos provided by Garrett are fundamentally the same turbo but there are four different P/Ns due to engine bay packaging constraints.

Selling over 100k of a model isn’t stupid shit. I seriously doubt you could build an additional 100k Bronco’s by simply not selling Bronco Sport’s - supply chains & manufacturing don’t magically work the way you think they should.

I don't care how many people were stupid enough to buy one, after all Pontiac sold every Aztek they made. Every Bronco Sport sold has parts in it that could have gone into something actually worth buying.

You are on a serious jump to conclusions mat to say bronco sport IR&D was wasted on a vehicle that is selling fantastically despite starting in a pandemic for another vehicle that was in a totally different and more niche segment that is experiencing a pretty obvious batch failure of a supplier component which is no indication of improper or insufficient RDT&E.

That 3.5 spanked the 7.5 in everything that didn't involve dragging logs over rough terrain at slow speed.

It doesn't seem to be turbo related. More of a metal treatment issue with a supplier ?

I remember that happening to GM with the early LS engines (Castek heads), and to Chrysler with the 5.7 HEMI.  Shit can and does happens to any manufacturer on any line of engine.
