Thanks to whomever posted a link to Diamondback Tactical Supply. Bought a Safariland 6004 for my S&W 4006TSW - they actually had them in stock! I had been waiting for 2 months for Lightfighter.com Great group of folks...decent pricing and johnny on the spot service

I hear ya, I ordered 2 TT smoke pouches and 2 bags of Malice clips (not exactly an exotic order) and it took almost 10 weeks. Customer service was, well, less than average. From now on when I need to order something, I'll probably go straight to the manufacturer. |
Possibly not Lightfighter's that the problem. My now closed indoor shooting range, Santa Anita Firing Range, Monrovia, Calif(10 miles east of L.A.) had all kinds of problems getting stuff from Safariland. And at that time Sarifaland was actually based in Monrovia(they have since moved Ontario, CA, about 30 miles east of L.A.), just down the street from them. And the problem got so bad the owner of the shooting range refused to do business with them. |

DBT is just down the road from me and Practical Tactical (shameless plug, yep!). Generally a nice group of folks to deal with (they are the AZ distributor for a couple products I carry) and have a lot in stock...if I only had that kind of money for inventory. :) As for Safariland, they quote my distributor (a different company) generally 3 weeks for holsters, longer for body armor. So, it may not be LF....or it might be....but with Safariland's lead times, it could be anything. Tim Weaver Practical Tactical, LLC Phoenix, AZ |

Long lead times = order in advance and STOCK SOME Ain't tough. I used to handle ordering for retail stores and unless my orders didn't get filled 3 times, I wasn't ever out of stock on items. - standard stock - emergency stock In retail, I always found a pretty predictable cycle, and unless an item wasn't available, I didn't run out. |

I like LF...the point is they said the holster and a CQB sling were backordered with no date in sight. Yet, they keep them on their main page to get more orders w/o telling you the schnizzle is backordered. I killed my holster order with them...kept the sling order...I just want to see how long it takes...coming up on 3 months now. |
| We stock alot of 6004 holsters. We just never keep any on hand for the S&W 4006. If you need a Glock 17 or a 92F, then I bet we have what you need. As for Tactical Tailor, they do a great job of keeping their stuff in stock and they give us alot of support. Sometimes, however, they might be out of a certain item and hold up the whole shipment to us; they have also been known to keep a supply on hand for themselves so that they will have it in stock for their direct customers. I can assure you all, and Tim W can probably back me up -- there is no one on the planet that wants customers to get the gear they order more than the place that got the order. |

I hear ya...the S&W is not really mainstream...my frustration was the "no idea when" and it applies to the CQB sling as well. I know your stuff is moving fast and that running a business aint easy. I was just frustrated. I was surprised that DT has my holster in stock. That really was the point here. I will continue to look to LF for deals. I've bought boots & gear from you all and will continue to do so...so don't take it personal ok.

What Brad is saying is right...it makes no sense for the company taking the order to NOT service it if they can...unless some ball gets dropped somewhere...which I readily admit to doing. However, since I work basically alone, I have nobody upon which to lay the blame but...me. With the Internet showing the next greatest deal only a click or two away, being out of stock on something can be devastating. Short of fanatical customer loyalty, if I can get something from Company B rather than my preferred Company A, for the same or nearly same price, I will. Doesn't mean I won't go back to Company A, but it DOES mean I will look to Company B in the future. I have gotten new customers because their Company A didn't have what they wanted, or didn't have it in stock. I am sure I've had customers look to other retailers for the same reason. There are only a couple products that I have that nobody else does...and that's because it's made exclusively for me. And, of course, not all retailers will stock all products for all people...though Brad is certainly trying hard. Me, I'd rather have the stuff I sell actually in stock, so I try and go deep versus wide. Sometimes it helps, sometimes it doesn't. Ah....isn't business great!! |
I posted it....but it was promptly locked by Aimless. He's reasoning is still a mystery. He claimed I never used their services or knew anyone who had, so I had no right advertising for them. I simply stumbled on to their web page, thought it was interesting, particularly the staff's amazing credentials, and shared it here. Locking it was stupid. I didn't "advertise" anything....simply found something of interest and shared it....I endorsed nothing. Whatever...no lost sleep. Check out the staff section of Diamondback Tactical's web page. These guys are the shit. |
