2-2news.com/2004/06/29/0001 “One day we were ambushed and insurgents shot thirteen rocket-propelled grenades at one tank,” Stiger explained. “No one inside the tank was injured. That’s our company’s record for the fire a tank has taken.” ![]() www.usmc.mil/marinelink/image1.nsf/lookup/200462943921?opendocument |
Nothing like a Thermal-sighted, gyro-stabilized 120mm counter-sniper rifle firing off HEAT rounds!!! ![]() Kind of reminds me of a Monty Python skit of "Which bush is George behind", Ahkmed is behind bush #3, BOOM! |

They were showing a clip on FNC the other day of one shitrag with an RPG, kneeled down and ready to fire. Another shitrag was kneeling DIRECTLY BEHIND the RPG tube like he was trying to look down the sights to see what the other guy was aiming at. DAMN I wish he would have pulled the trigger on that sucker while that guy was kneeling there. (actually, he may have...the video clip didnt show what happened) |
I think the skit was titled "How not to be seen". been awhile since i've seen it. pretty funny shiz. |
Yo! Yo fries are done! |
The Challenger has a rifled bore? I was under the impression that the 120mm tanks were all smooth-bored like the Abrams... However, the point is still valid -> thermal-imaging tank vs sniper -> BOOM, dead sniper bits... |
the reason that the brits kept the rifled bore is due to their infactuation with the HESH round(High explosive squash head) works well for them so they didnt want to get rid of it. hesh rounds dont work well through smoothbore guns. |
Yes, I saw that! Mr. akmed with his AK in a pillbox trying to take on a M1A1! A little coax, then got tired of the pissant and gave him a 120mm express ride to his awaiting virgins! IIRC, there was a building and it "HAD" a sniper up in the top of it, he too ate a 120mm round!
