Dumb & Dumber.

It's a love story about 2 best friends travelling across the country hoping to find the one mans great lost love so he can reconnect with her.  There's a criminal organization following them because they believe that the two unwittingly have some stuff that belongs to them.

Theres a big twist in the end with the two guys and the girl and an undercover FBI agent.  I dont want to give it away.

ETA. Michael. 1996. Travolta. A cute story of an unconventional angel.

Last night TCM had on "Dr Zhivago".  I saw it when it came out---I was 9.

I had no understanding or interest in the Russian Revolution (though I did think the armored train was cool as hell).

I think I fell in love with Julie Christie, even though at 9 years old in 1965, I was pretty clueless about girls, sex, etc.

I was totally blown away when he collapsed in the street, and she never turned around.  Killed little me!

The original Dr. Zhivago should be required high school viewing.

Fun fact, we find the music enchanting. There is a particular song in it, "Braille", that's heart-melting gorgeous, that at that time was available on youtube, but not digitally published for use. My wife searched and searched for a published digital copy, and with no luck, she actually contacted the artist. The artist, Lisa Hannigan, was a sweetheart and got back to her and actually sent my wife a digital copy, so we could play it on our systems.

That's amazing.   She started off with Damien Rice back in the early 2000's.  We got to see her perform with him back in the day.   Amazing voice, great musician.

this the song?

"Ondine" (2009); Colin Farrell and Alicja Bachleda. Not shoot em up, or super action, or twisting anticipation, but IMHO beautiful and fulfilling, if that makes any sense. That is all.

Why not a double header with "Where The Red Fern Grows"?  I mean, you hate kids, right?  LOL.  Don't remember if it was the end of 5th or 6th grade, but for the end of year last day stuff, they showed us that movie.  I mean, why would they want every kid in the grade crying at the end of the day?

"Hey, you like dogs, right?  Wanna watch a movie about dogs?  You'll love these dogs!!!  These dogs were the best dogs evah!!!"  Sadistic bastards.

Deadpool was pretty great.  But we usually will go for one of the Sharknado series.  One of the best times ever was when we watched "K2"

My 5th grade teacher read that book to us. Grandpa gave a copy to me for my birthday or some such. I grew up around him, coon hounds, coon hunting.

The first movie is the best and closest to the book (couldn't be closer, really). The remake with the dark headed boy wasn't nearly as good.

I tried to read the book to my boy. All those memories and knowing the story in the book. I couldn't get through the first page. Physically couldn't get the words around the lump in my throat.

Yes, it's got Adam Sandler.
Yes, there's a scene with a dog humping a pillow.

But it's got a great message about the meaning of family, choices we make, and what success really means.

Hey, I had to deal with watching that scary freaking movie as a kid.

Since it’s heating up over there again it may be a good eye opener for kids today.

Learning to get under a school desk to protect yourself from a nuclear bomb is good information.
