So Ben Sulayem said he agrees that the FIA should open an investigation on Pérez « crash » in Monaco , because the telemetries shown by various commentators are interesting, to say the least…. But but, they will only do so if another team asks for it by filing an official protest..
Wait , what ? Since when does the FIA need other teams to investigate possible irregularities ? |

With Latifi and Schumacher gone, who will spin in every race and bring up the rear for all of 2023?
Yuki and Zhou are still in it so my guess is they'll take up the mantle. Fingers crossed it won't be Sargeant and the Williams is slightly less dogshit next year. |

Quoted: Ferrari is still fighting PU issues and Haas was more than likely (it being the last race) running under parameters that they would want to thoroughly review after the race (wear, heat cycles, etc). Redlining the PU doing burnouts nullifies all of the data. View Quote Honestly, I doubt getting data from the PU had anything to do with it. I’m sure Ferrari has more than enough data on their PU and they didn’t seem to care that Leclerc did donuts. I think this was all Steiner thinking that Mick was giving him a big farewell FU, or maybe Steiner thinking that it wasn’t appropriate, considering that Mick punted a Williams in the race. I’d say it was 99% chance that Steiner was just being a dick. |

Couple of graphical observations and thoughts from the testing.
Red Bull’s drivers were wearing suits that were stripped of all sponsorship except for Red Bull and Oracle. All a bit strange. I really hope Sargeant comes up with a helmet design with a more subtle use of the American flag. The full flag is a bit much. |

All black bikes and leathers at end of and pre-season tests is pretty much the rule. Not 100% but a good part of the grid. This year there were a number of riders that switched teams and still under contract to their previous teams. They were not allowed to comment on the difference they found in the bikes. They could talk about their new bikes but not compare them their old bikes. |

Isn't that the person speculated as to how the information that Red Bull exceeded the cost cap was leaked? Yep. Guessing that was RB’s price to not fight the ruling in arbitration (which would have aired all of the dirty laundry in discovery). |

Ferrari and Mercedes will have a good off season and come out of the gate swinging, RB won’t be the run away dominant car like they were this year and Checo’s lack of talent will become a huge liability. Max is forced to fight both Ferrari and both Mercedes drivers on his own and Dr. Marko will say enough is enough, pack your shit Sergio. |

RIC will get a lot of simulator time and face to face interaction with the engineers, he’d be a much easier mid season swap. Maybe Nyck is a total badass and gets the nod anyway. I don’t know who is going to be in that seat but if RB isn’t running away with it Checo is done. He’s dead weight, cost them the constructors in 2021 and couldn’t get the 1-2 finish this year. After the race in Brazil it’s pretty clear the buddy buddy relationship between Sergio and Max is a fake as the RB balance sheet. That begs the question “why keep Sergio, what does he have to offer?” |

My guess is that Danny now knows his place and it will be much more symbiotic in the twilight of his career. He should be a good #2 - but the question will still remain: Can he deliver the pace in a Redbull? Probably more than a F2 driver trying to acclimate. And Redbull is notoriously impatient with young drivers. Methinks this all leads to Danny Ric being back in the car for the second half of 2023. |

They’ve already been teammates. This is not an unknown scenario. Seriously, no need for speculation, see 2016, 2017, 2018. If RIC were to get back into that seat I don’t think he’d have any illusions about who the #1 driver is or expect to be treated any differently than Checo is now as the #2. RIC has the potential to drive much, much better than Checo, that’s what he’d be bringing to the table. Even if getting Nyck in the RB is the ultimate goal I think a mid season swap would be less likely than putting RIC in to finish the season(if RIC has the pace, big if). I feel like RB has learned rapidly swapping drivers around doesn’t work out too often. Or maybe RB will be dominant again and they’ll keep the status quo RB will win #6 and max will be a triple world champion. |

I agree. Ric will NOT be in a Red Bull when the lights go out unless Checo gets injured AND Devries is not "Ready" to be in the car. Ric is there to put time in the Sim. I doubt he really puts much time in the sim other than to keep/gain a general familiarity with the car. The position of sim driver has really changed over the last decade and they have trended toward ESports specialists. Below is an article on Rudy van Buren working as Max’s simulator driver back at the factory. https://the-race.com/formula-1/where-verstappen-sees-big-value-from-new-red-bull-f1-sim-driver/ Another below (published today) about an ESports kid becoming one of the official sim drivers. https://www.redbullracing.com/int-en/sebastian-job-oracle-red-bull-racing-simulator-driver In short, there are general set up “workhorses” and there are specialists like van Buren that will be working on fine tuning options during the night between FP2 and FP3. The drivers do the sim tests primarily for correlation between the real car and the sim. |
