Saying Bruce Springsteen Sucks is sort of like remarking on the dampness of a lake.

Like, duh?

He had one song I liked, and I liked it when I was like, 8.

That was about it.

I don't care about his politics, but I've never understood why people think Springsteen is so great.  As though he's some iconinic voice of blue collar America.  WTF?  Some of his songs from Born in the USA are ok, but I just dont dig his music.

I can't believe you folks trash Springsteen then claim ac/dc is anything more than a teenage boy fad that most folks grow out of by age 20.

I get up in the evening
and I ain't got nothing to say
I come home in the morning
I go to bed feeling the same way
I ain't nothing but tired
Man I'm just tired and bored with myself
Hey there baby, I could use just a little help

You can't start a fire
You can't start a fire without a spark
This gun's for hire
even if we're just dancing in the dark

Message keeps getting clearer
radio's on and I'm moving 'round the place
I check my look in the mirror
I wanna change my clothes, my hair, my face
Man I ain't getting nowhere
I'm just living in a dump like this
There's something happening somewhere
baby I just know that there is

You can't start a fire
you can't start a fire without a spark
This gun's for hire
even if we're just dancing in the dark

You sit around getting older
there's a joke here somewhere and it's on me
I'll shake this world off my shoulders
come on baby this laugh's on me

Stay on the streets of this town
and they'll be carving you up alright
They say you gotta stay hungry
hey baby I'm just about starving tonight
I'm dying for some action
I'm sick of sitting 'round here trying to write this book
I need a love reaction
come on now baby gimme just one look

You can't start a fire sitting 'round crying over a broken heart
This gun's for hire
Even if we're just dancing in the dark
You can't start a fire worrying about your little world falling apart
This gun's for hire
Even if we're just dancing in the dark
Even if we're just dancing in the dark
Even if we're just dancing in the dark
Even if we're just dancing in the dark
Hey baby

If you're gonna promote AC/DC, at least use one of their good songs as an example.  Thunderstruck is okay, I suppose, but hardly of artistic or literary note.  With a few exceptions, the vast majority of what AC/DC has put out since Back in Black has been mediocre at best.  Brian Johnson couldn't hold a candle to Bon Scott, and frankly, has just been getting worse over the years.  At this point his shrieking just hurts my ears.

Not exactly a Springsteen fan, but this is like comparing apples and oranges.  BTW, Springsteen's best song was Born to Run (IMHO).  As for his politics, well... as I said, not a huge fan anyway so he's not losing any of my money.  Besides, if I went around refusing to so much as listen to music, watch movies/TV, or appreciate anything artistic based soley on the artist's political views, there wouldn't be a whole lot left to choose from.

Springsteen is a capable songwriter and guitarist.  However, his worldview and political opinions must be taken with a grain of salt due too his isolated existance as an "artist".  As a younger person, I enjoyed his music FAR more than I do these days.  In fact, I can't recall when I last  purposely cued up one of his songs.  I do, however, admit that he has "talent".

Whatever the hell that is................
