You gotta love people who get connectivity working and thinks that's all that is required. Security is an afterthought at best for most wireless users, if even that.

Used to work with a guy that would drive around while we were out of town looking for unsecured networks. Hey, why dial up from the hotel room at 19.2, 26.4, 28K etc when you can get 11, 5.5, or even, at worse, 2 or 1Mb from an unsecured wireless connection?

I sat next to him on a park bench in front of a city hall in TN while he sent email over the city's open wireless network. Ballsy move.

I have all the hardware sitting on my kitchen table to go wireless.  Got a great deal on the package.  Haven't even started to hook it all up.  It's oneof those "I know this is going to piss me off so why bother" kind of deals.

It's not technically illegal to use someone elses UNSECURED wireless network.

This is why I always run cable.

It can be a bear to hook up the wall plates or fish / string the wire. But I'd rather spend 1/2 an hour or more swearing when the wiring is tough than have to spend all my time worrying about a new wireless spoof / exploit.
