i'm trying to play americas army(i've got the CD if that makes a difference) when i click on the icon on my desktop i get an error starting program message. it says: the D3D8.DLL file is linked to missing export DDRAW.DLL:DdEntry14 what the hell does all that crap mean? nevermind i don't care what it means. how can i make it stop saying that so i can play the darn game. thanks for any help. |

re-install your video driver run dxdiag, make sure direct 3d acceleration is enabled, and test it another thing, check your path variable and make sure %windowsdir%\system32 is in your path. (i.e. if windows is installed on drive c: in windows, make sure c:\windows\system32 is in the path)

i did the test thing and it worked for the first 2 tests, then it said the test to use hardware-accelerated direct3D9 was skipped because the display driver does not support it. so i guess that is my prob. how to i figure out what the hardware manufacturer is to download the new driver for it? |
