Had to convert my computers from XP (blech) to win 2000 (better).....BUT I have not been able to reload the Memory Stick reader (the computers are Sonys). I have looked for the downloads on the net and have found a site that allows me todownload the driver, but it is specific to the XP os! GRRRRR.

Any help?

Try it and see what happens.  Otherwise look for an NT driver.

SO much better it doesn't have native support for these devices?

This thread is like an oxymornon.

Windows ME or 2000 as you call it is not better then XP. That being said OS X is way better then any Windows op system. Just buy a Mac and you're worries will be over.

2000 P&P's most of those. Is the reader old?
What happens when you plug in the USB does it ask for a driver?

I thought it was P&P too, but so far have not been able to get a reader to load.
