[ARCHIVED THREAD] - AWB countdown clock. (Page 1 of 2)
good idea. i second it. |
There are a couple ways he could do this, but he could write a simple app on his local machine that generates the image and places in on the web server every day, as a simple alternative... Just schedule it using the Task Sceduler. |

That's only part of the good news. Counting weekends, holidays, recesses (these guys take a lot of time off), there's only something like 40 days left (as of today), where Congress is actually in session. Through in the fact that the critters rarely vote on a Friday or Monday (most are traveling over the weekend), one third of the Senate and all of the House are up for re-election and are busy campaigning... and the Congress is scheduled to adjourn by Oct 1st; I'd say things are looking pretty good right about now. Not that I'm totally reassured we're out of the hole just yet; I'll believe it on Sept 14th and not a day sooner. |
| I've had a true countdown clock on my webpage for months now carbine308.home.att.net |

which is more odd? that you posted this, or that I had decided to create one without seeing this thread? it still needs some minor work, but I just started coding it saturday night, for one thing the check marks aren't working in the menu, and I want it to be able to save the custom date option, but it works as a 12 hour clock, 24 hour clock, countdown to the AWB expiring, or countdown to any other date selected. Also has an always on top option. also needs an icon other than the visual c++ default Geocities sucks with hotlinks, so just copy and paste the address, add a space to the end and press enter http://www.geocities.com/tatical15th/arfcom/countdown.zip www.geocities.com/tatical15th/arfcom/countdown.zip hotlinked on the off chance the hotlink will work, but I doubt it edit: when it runs it defaults to the AWB countdown and to be always on top. also loads into the top left corner of the screen. program window can be moved and the always on top option turned off. When I get around to the finishing touches I'll upload it under the same name so the link won't change
