I need a better reason to take them off as my home page.  I believe they have the freedom to do what they want.

They may simply be trying to avoid liability. Just because they're protecting themselves doesn't necessarily make them anti-gun.

Now, if they start actively promoting anti-gun stuff, then all bets are off...

I respect what everyone is saying and can understand, heck I goggled long before it became popular.

But I refuse to support a company that will not allow common advertising, also the yare public now with stock.

There was a bit of "keyword flooding" if that was all he had for info on advertising..  Not sure, still find lots with Google, like ARF...

Google is based out of Mountain View Kalifornistan, why did I expect such from them?

If they are anti-gun...I'm anti-Google.

edit: along with AOL, Levi Strauss etc.

YMMV

Google, I guess, "reserves the right" to refuse listing of firearms related advertisers.

There was a well known gunsmith that ran into a problem with them awhile ago, unfortunatley the gentlemen's name escapes me. As I understand it, though the google search would still show up the business, on the right or left hand side there is a listing of "paid advertisers" within the searched category and google will not allow gunshops and gunsmiths to be listed there. Pornography and hydroponic pot farms are fine, but god forbid you want the trigger on your Remington 700 lightened.

Google is soon to become even more gigundus with the start of google e-mail. The e-mails you receive will be "read" by google and searched for key words for advertising i.e. "car" might bring up car ads. Admittedly they will only be read by a program scanning for key words, but still-I will pass on that

C'mon guys.  This is a no brainer.

Goolge won't let our buds advertise.  That means they aren't our buds.  There are MANY other options available.  I emailed them asking to confirm the article and told them if it was true I wouldn't be using their search engine any more.  No response, which I take to be "FU".

Having used Yahoo ever since, I can tell you that you will be getting almost exactly the same results and won't miss commie Google one bit.  It's time to kick the habit.

How much do you care about the cause?

Yeah, Top.  Another vote for Dogpile.  I use their toolbar and search engine RELIGIOUSLY!  Plus, as a bonus, they have a Fox News ticker.

I love it, as it is a meta-search engine that uses all of the other top search engines, and you can set it to give you results by engine or by relevance.  I very rarely take more than 30 seconds to find the item I'm looking for.
