I wish I had a stripper clip dust cover for my FAL

I still use older gear, mainly because it's affordable while still being serviceable.  Heck, some pouches these days go for almost as much as I paid for my entire setup.

I need to put together a set for ARs, now that I have them, as I only have a set for my FAL.  I also have other gear that's serviceable for lighter or mag-only setups, like an M1956 belt and suspender set with some Greek or Portuguese mag pouches, or a Portuguese 7.62X51mm BAR belt set, or M1956-style Garand pouches for use with my FAL in CA (where charger-loading is a must).  I have some ALICE gear for M-16s, but I prefer other pouches for 5.56, and H-suspenders over the Y-suspenders.

This is my primary LBE set for the FAL.  It's a mix of ALICE, M1967, USMC M1961, M1956, Canadian Pattern 82, and more modern, commercial gear.  I've made a couple of small changes.  Still need to get an IFAK for it, which will cost significantly more than the rest of the LBE put together.

I don' have this set up right now, but this is something I just threw together for a simple rig a while back.  I have a set of M1956 suspenders now that I'd prefer over the ALICE ones for this sort of thing.

Bandolier I improvised using those pouches and an ALICE equipment strap, which I'll throw in the truck with my FAL for road trips.

LBE set I put together for a tactical match here in CA for which I used my FAL, which required me to use chargers.

I got this one from a seller (a member here) in Belgium, via the FAL Files.  They pop up from time to time.  This one is an aluminum one from a Belgian M2 rifle (Belgian contract lightweight 50.00), which is also why it is painted grey instead of black.  It's handy in my situation, where I have to fix the mag (he only alternative is to use one of those grip fins, which make the rifle unusable, despite being able to use detachable mags).

I use a Chinese chest pouch for my AK mags, or an old US-made Blackhawk Omega LBV that I’ve had since the early 90s.

All our gear is civilian, burnt orange, earth tones..concealed armor, concealed pistols, AR pistol in soft music instrument case. If an evacuation by foot is necessary, just one more civilian, with nothing visible that'll draw alot of attention.

So what kind of pouches are these again?

They are certainly usable, but I wouldn't buy them over decent surplus molle. You can get nearly new molle surplus pouches, belts, packs, etc from UK and other Euro countries for actually cheaper than crappy worn ALICE stuff if you look around.

Greek 7.62mm mag pouches.  The top one has loops on the back through which you can slide M1956 belts (or later belts with that buckle style; I think M1967 would work, too).  The bottom one is designed to attach to a belt, pack, or pouches using M1910 wire hangers and has a tie-down for the leg.  APEX had them and Greek M1956-style Garand pouches for a while. I don't think I paid more than $5 for them.

On that first pic I see M-14 single mag pouches (got several of them for my M1A) also didn't realize they had gone to those plastic prong buckles on the M1956 butt pack

I've also got quite a bit of Alice gear including the medium rucksack with frame.

I use whatever I can get a hold of that fits my requirements of holding my gear, durability, and cheapness.
My pistol holster is a modded vietnam style 3x mag pouch. I attach with a mix of Alice clips, Molle, and double sided velcro.

They didn't.  I got some fastex buckles and added them to make getting into and out of the pack easier.

For the AR15's.

Still have the M1A stuff set up in the proper GI gear for it.

The GII had to have new pouches  (which got a new belt, etc., etc.) as they would not fit in the GI M14 mag. pouches.

I upgraded an ALICE pack with Tactical Tailor straps and waist belt.

Comfy and simple.

I do.
Although its primary purpose is when I go hunting.
