In his mind, he has transcended the sport and has more important things to offer the world. You serious, Clarke? Yeah. It wouldn’t surprise me. Odds are probably slim of it happening, but he won’t be around much longer. |

Happy New Year to all! Hopefully we will see some racing this year, but I don't see any changes to make me overly hopeful. It will be good to see the driver shuffle, and fuck Sir Lewis! If Perez does well at RBR it means Max won't be fighting the Mercs with one hand tied behind his back. There still is Blottas the blocker to get past. At least the Red Bull Honda setup seems to be able to challenge Merc on some tracks and in some conditions. Give Russell the 2nd Mercedes seat and we could have an interesting season. Hell give him the #1 seat (wishful thinking) |

If I'm not mistaken they're staying as a Mercedes customer for power units and Aston Martin is ending its partnership with Red Bull.

Quoted: My bet would be the pick up Russel for 2022. Botas's and Russel's contracts are up at the end of 2021 and Lewis is going to be in his late 30's by then. ETA, In on 1. View Quote For sure. Whether or not Hammy stays past 2021, Bottas is done. They are only keeping Bottas for this year to ensure that Hammy gets his 8th WDC title and owns all of the F1 records that matter. Merc won’t do anything to threaten that. After that, they won’t care. It’s likely Hammy will opt out after 2021 anyway, since his work is done. Probably move on to some woke projects. |

Anyone know when the liveries are going to be reviled? Have they announced it yet? I've heard Merc will run a black car again.

Quoted: I think Russell’s race was eye opening. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: Quoted: This. I would love to see him in a different car. Ha. What a reality check that would be. I think Russell’s race was eye opening. We all knew the Merc was by far the best car on the grid, no surprise there. I think it was more of a validation that RUS is the real deal. I think if you put Albon in that car he would be 6/10ths behind BOT all week long. |

Can’t wait for the 2021 liveries. The grid is going to be so much better looking without the pink panthers, the black and yellow Renault’s never did it for me either. A BRG Aston Martin and blue Alpine are a big improvement IMO. Looking forward to Alonso and Ocon ripping shit up in the midfield too.

View Quote How embarrassing for Australia (and New Zealand, which has had the strictest lockdowns by far). Once a penal colony full of malcontents and misfits, 200 years later any semblance of rebelliousness has been bred out of them and they've willfully turned themselves into a country of pathetic serfs. |

F1 set to move 2021 winter tests to Bahrain, teams clash on dates
Formula 1 is set to move 2021 winter testing to Bahrain in March in the wake of Australia's pending postponement as the season opener. With the Melbourne race planned for 21 March set to be postponed amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and restrictions, F1 is poised to stage its 2021 season opener in Bahrain on 28 March. F1 teams had originally considered moving pre-season testing to Bahrain for the 2021 season, but agreed to remain at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in Spain for the single three-day test. But with Australia's likely postponement set to change the logistical plans involved for pre-season testing, teams have agreed it would be best to move testing to Bahrain. It would ensure that all of the freight travelling to the Bahrain International Circuit for testing could remain there for the opening race, cutting back on costs and further travel. But Autosport understands there is still some disagreement between teams over when the three-day test will take place, leaving the dates for testing unconfirmed. While some are eager to hold the running as close to the race as possible, others are looking to run it further out from the Bahrain weekend. The sporting regulations state the three-day test must take place "between 1 February and 10 days before the start of the first event of the championship". More at the link View Quote |
