OK there is controversy over whether drinking and driving or drinking and shooting is OK, but what about shooting while driving?  Is there anything wrong with popping a .22 at some targets while driving down the road on a leisurely Sunday drive?  How about also sipping a nice brewski at the same time? Drinking, driving AND shooting.  I frequently unwind this way while driving home from work, rules be damned.

Edit: WOW IE crashed while I posted this.  I'm glad to see it made it to the server and I don't have to type it again.  Now I have time to go grab a beer and a gun.

… Some of my earliest memories were of my grandpa and his cousins shooting from vehicles while doing 60 MPH in the desolate, outback Nevada desert.
These men were honorable, skilled marksmen that took a shooting sport to a new level back in the late 50’s.

… Screw PC.

… Call me old-fashioned. WTF do I care?

Sounds like fun except for that pesky little law that says you can't discharge a firearm within 100yds of a roadway. I don't need that kind of trouble.

It's 50 feet from the centerline where I live.

LOL.

Never tried that, but the guys in Hollywood need to take better lessons.

The best hunting blind I have ever used is a vehicle, it is mobile, animals here have little fear of vehicles. The only downside is shooting large caliber rounds in an enclosed space. Ussually I just use it for taking out gophers with a .22 rifle.

Is that just penal law or also en con? I find it hard to believe that your en con laws allow firing from a  vehicle.

"Hunting from a Public Road During Closed Season?"

nope, never heard of it so certainly i've never been ticketed for it before

P.S. i didn't even know there was a season on opossums, but i know that law enforcement is omnipotent and at least he got home safely.  and hypothetically, since this never happened, it was a dirt road 5 miles outside of tynan, tx, look it up on a map, its comical

In NY you can hunt from a vehicle with a Non Ambulatory Hunter Permit.

I guess I can admit this now that I no longer live in Denmark...

When I was 17 (in the danish version of the National Guard) I fired off my G-3 on full auto with a magazine full of tracers while driving along the coast on New Year's Eve. (btw - you also have to be 18 to drive in Denmark).  I wonder exactly how many laws I broke.

I'm someone had caught me, I'd probably STILL be in prison

... no alcohol was involved, however - just youth and stupidity.

I am sure that  we are not discussing a case involving that particular exemption.

I have a designated driver for doing this.

But, umm, yeah.  (Road Hunting for coyotes is legal, and once you are under 5mph, it is usually an easy shot)

It would have been a hate crime.  But hey nothing like tracers to get a dike wet.
