Is it me? Did I miss something?

When they fire their weapons in the movie "Navy Seals", I didn't see any or hear any brass ejected. What's up with that?

Caseless Special Forces/Navy Seals ammo?

Then you missed perhaps the best part of the flick.

About 10 minutes after the start, they break through the warehouse windows firing their MP-5SDs - about all you hear is the sound of the brass hitting the floor. Very cool effect.

I haven't seen it in a long time but I can distinctly remember hearing a casing hit the ground after Charlie Sheen shoots a running terrorist point blank in the chest or back or something. I don't hear brass hitting the ground all the time in real life either though you know .

I'll have to watch it again. Just don't remember seeing any ejecting brass and really don't remember the brass hitting the floor. All I remember hearing was that wispy blast sound from the silencer.

Well you should probably see it, just so you can come on here and trash it!!!!

Its one of those horrible military movies that every gun nut has seen.....twice.

I own it on DVD and on VHS.

Interestingly enough, the screenwriter for this film was Chuck Pfarrer, an eight year veteran SEAL that served some time in Beirut.  He also was screenwriter for The Jackal and recently wrote the book called "Warrior Soul".  Cheesy movie?  Yes.  Brass hitting the floor?  Yes, heard it.  I'm sure Hollywood had its way with the script and the rest is history.  Good book though, recommended reading.

The only things that REALY tick me off about that movie are the through-the-rock thermal scope and Charlie Sheen's charater's attitude.

If that guy existed in real life, I think you would have had the first case of SEAL-on-SEAL fratricide AND the first case of a SEAL being left behind.

Frankly, the SOB never would have made it through BUDS, but whatever...

That's about right. I bought it on VHS as soon as it was released. Don't watch it much.

But you get to see MP5D's in action. Along with a Barrett M82.

Worth the rent on dollar night.

no/little brass is better than in the Matrix lobby scene where .223 brass falls from a 9mm weapon

I tossed the DVD in the compuer as soon as I got home today, and jumped to this scene.... Yes, Lots of Brass Music, and as I step though frame by frame... I can barely see a few shells fly.... apparently I have too much time on my hands.

You guys with the DVDs will be able to still frame at the scene where Charlie Sheen jumps from the moving car off the bridge and into the water, if you look close you will recognize me as I was the stunt double.  We have roughly the same build.

This has to be one of the LAMEST movies EVER, and they show it on American Movie "Classics" for gods sake! What the hell kind of movie is this to be a "classic"?!?

Charlie Sheen's character would NEVER have gotten past BUD/S, I think everyone here would agree on that.

Them leaving their buddies behind? That's quite unlikely to happen either.

A Naval officer, a SEAL at that, telling a reporter classified information? Unlikely again.

There are so many false and incorrect things in this movie that it's really disgusting and goes beyond Hollywood tweaking reality to make things interesting.

Absolute garbage, IMO.

I was always amused that the screenwriter was a seal, and they had seal help in the tech aspect, yet they made so many damn mistakes. The thermal scope, shooting their MP5's "limey CQB style" (off the sling, not the stock), etc.

It's a good "Sunday afternoon" flick anyway. And it makes me want a MP5SD6.

I rather like how Office Space made fun of the movie.  In the main character's house there is a SEAL flag, and a SEAL poster in his cubicle.  Kind of tongue-in-cheek, and never actually mentioned.
