Excuse my ignorance but! Should I be morning the lose of the mortal man that walked the earth so many years ago, or should I be rejoicing him rising from the grave? I know he died for my sins, but while he was alive he did so much good. What is Easter really all about? |

Quoted: If you were a Catholic you would have spent the last couple of weeks mourning the death. Easter is the day when you STOP mourning and celebrate. I see so it is a time of mourning up to easter, then celebrate because of his resurrection? That sounds good. I really have not gone to church that much in my life I do believe in a higher power, and worship in my own way but am not that savy on the church going, due to work and most of the ones I've been to here have that attitude that they are better than anyone else. Guess I haven't found the right one for me. |

I'll see if I can help. First I suggest you read the Gospel for info and understanding. Basically Jesus came down to earth as the Human form of God. Jesus was both fully human and fully God at the same time. Jesus died for yours, mine, and everyone elses sins that ever walked this earth. The reason for Him dying is to show that God has domintaion over everything...even death. It also means that when you join with God you also go thru a "re-birth" So both parts of Easter are important. Jesus loved you and me so much that He died a horrable death. That's love man! His resurection shows that Jesus as God has dominion over everything and that there is salvation for us all. I hope this helps. Feel free to ask anymore questions you have but I highly suggest a good Bible and maybe a GOOD Christian church for starters. SGatr15 |

If you heard the term "Higher Power" at a Self Help group then you are in for a long road ahead of you. Church shopping is usually for people who want to find a religion that doesn't require them to do much effort or hold them accountable. Just my opinion, but if you are looking for the "perfect" church you will never find it....because church is for sinners, not saints. SGatr15 |

I can look for a church that fits me till the day I die and prob. never find one. I guess I have not been going to church for the right reasons. I have been looking for a good church when I should just go to a church with good faith and worship however I can. I have been worring about how do I fit in here when I really just need to go to worsh and not worry at all about trivial stuff. |
