Anyone use one? Looking to use one for my 20" with ACOG. Thanks. www.bushmaster.com/shopping/buttstocks/6200.asp |
| I used the Colt model for some time with my A2. It raised your cheek weld to the level of a carry-handle mounted scope, but it made the iron sights useless. You couldn't take it off easily, so you can consider it permanant. I think there are removeable versions available now. |

Quoted: Thanks, will give it a try. www.aspitactical.com/cherokee/details/ver8-2061.asp?PRODUCT_ID=2061 I have a Delta on an extra A2 buttstock. I attach it when a set up for Fox and Coyote hunts. Check weld is near perfect when I mount the scope on the rear sight assy. |

As a designated gunsmith, I have experience in both the Delta and Delta Pro cheekpieces. The standard Delta, as mentioned before, will not allow iron sight use while installed. If one wishes to remove the Delta, a screwdriver is required. Other than that if one wishes to utilize a scope full time it should not be an issue. The Delta Pro is different in that it can be quickly snapped on and off if one wishes to use iron sights or a scope. The drawback is that the sling swivel on the buttstock is removed and a swivel on the bottom of the cheekpiece must be used instead. The solution to this is to install a "single point" sling mount which is located behind between the buffertube flange and lower reciever. Please remember my assistance when hateful and baseless accusations of non-contribution are leveled against me. Peace be with you. |
