Where can I get an affordable gun rack that can hold several long guns.  Doesnt have to be encased but I need to organize some of my rifles when they are out of the safe so that they are not just leaning against a wall.

Make one yourself.

Shouldn't cost very much. And you'll get exactly what you want.

That sounds like a smart-ass answer, but I'm doing just that.

I am planning a nice wall cabineet, and a tactical closet mount for a shotgun, and a floor rack for post range, cleanup.

something like this, but a little bigger and nicer.

Are you referring to my reply, as being a smart-ass answer?

If so, it wasn't meant to be, I'm being serious.  If I was in the market for something like that, I'd much rather make it and have exactly what I what/ need, that something pre-made and not really what you want/ need.

Exactly what I was thinking of. Simple and easily made to fit your needs. [;)]

I meant, it sounds like sarcasm, but it is good advice.  I didn't think you were being smart-assed in your response.  I wasn't either.

Actually thats what I was thinking of too. I should just make it.  I just dont have the time. Any extra time I usually want to use for sleep!

I unsucessfully attempted to make one over the weekend. My plan was to just buy a couple of coat hooks and screw them into my wall. The Hooks and anchors cost me about 5 bucks.
I gave up however after a long search for the right studs (proper distance from eachother to support my rifles at two points).
Hopefully you'll have better luck and aren't as lazy as I.

If you are just putting hooks in the wall, use drywall anchors.
Unless you're planning on hanging from the wall by your rifle.
The plastic wall anchors are rated for around 20 lbs.  At 2 per rifle, you won't have any problems.

Or you could just use a couple of boards, with holes drilled in them to accept a few pegs to mount your guns on.
Just be sure to space them on the studs.  Like this...
