Quoted: ....looks like the guy is about to grab the barrel to lift the gun? [LOLabove] I noticed that... probably edited the tape end there so you don't see him burn his hand, dropping the -42, then get the view of the camera as the photographer laughs his ass off! [:D] Damn, load up a belt, weight down the bipod and let's *ROCK* that puppy!! |

yeah, 'hitler's zipper' is fast, but after shooting a minigun i'm kind of spoiled on speed! you guys need to come to bulletfest and try the 42 out for size. last year we must have had 20-25 of them. the 42 is the fastest way to turn dollars into spent 8mm brass that i know of! an original ww2 vintage with all the right marks and kit can set a fella back well over $25k. i've seen ww2 infantry tripods fetch over $2000. the last form 04 beater i saw traded at $18k. |

2 medium machineguns that I think are the PEAK of development are the MG42 and the FN-MAG. I don't believe thay can be improved upon. The American Military Industrial Complex thought it could do better and we got the "Wonderful" M-60. Leave a good thing alone......the MG42 in 7.62mm NATO = MG3 [banana] |

Link doesn't work, I have a friend who is a class 3 dealer here in Iowa, and he has an MG-42. I have been able to shoot it out the back of his pickup on its bipod and then also with the big affair you latch it into with the periscope sight thing. That thing is awesome. We stuck an old bowling ball out there about 120 yards and just bounced it all over the place till it was chewed to pieces. patsue |

Or is simply a matter of $$$$ simply a matter of moolah. although there are far more form 04 m16's on the market, there are also more folks that can scrape together the $8-12k to buy the rig. a 42 , as limited a number of them as there is, exists in a market with even fewer buyers. not only does one need to cough up $20k and up for the basic rig, feeding and caring for it is not cheap. then there's that whole safe and storage space thing. a 42, lafette, linker, link belts, tools and spares takes up considerable space. |
