FYI, I do plan on talking to my doctor about this. I am 6'5" @215-220lbs. I tend to eat maybe 2 small meals a day with some small snacks. I have noticed over the years that I have developed "shaking" in the hands. Now, usually this is controlled thru deit and such. It tends to be worse when I go to long without eating, but not always. My father has noticed this in my hands and told me it is called "Tremors", since he has it also. My father has been taking pills for it that basically calms the nerves and settles his hands down. I have talked to my doctor about this before. His recommendation of deit and eating every 3 hours usually helps. But in the mornings when I first wake up it is bad, the hands shake ALOT!! ANd it seems to be getting worse. Anyone else have this?? Just wondering.... SGtar15 And no...I am not going crazy |

Quoted: Have you had your blood sugar tested? If your blood suger gets low, it could possibly explain the shaking and why when after you eat something it gets better (blood sugar comes up). The way you describe diet helping, Sarge, it may be a factor but you should check your blood sugar when you have symptoms. With your Dad's story it sounds more like a benign essential tremor. Your Dad is propably on a beta blocker(ends in -ol). But there can be other reasons such as Parkinson's or other neurologic problems. You should probably have your thyroid checked also. Just a few ideas. No substitute for a thorough history and exam though...That will allow your doc to discard some possibilities and pursue others with lab or other work-up. |
| DrJar is correct. My buddy had horrible shaking as a med student and we would joke that he should become a gynecologist! A lot of people have essential tremors. If you have low blood suger lower then 50 you will also have some other symptoms as well. Like neurologial like yours to nausea, hunger, palpitations, headaches and anxiety etc. |
