I just got back from shooting my Bushmaster M4 that has the Mini-Y Comp.

It freaking rattles your teeth there is so much blast coming back from it.

It is the FIRST thing that will go when the AWB dies.

Try drilling the holes out straight. I got tired of feeling like I got punched every shot.

Might check my thread on the AR-10 section. I make covers for the AR-10 brake and have made one for the bushy Y comp. Planerench out.

I broke out the SVT 40 the other day its just about as bad but semiauto.

I have the full size y-comp and it isnt very loud, my Ar with the ak-74 brake is much louder. is there any difference between the full y-comp and the mini

I shot the Goblins and love it! The muzzle barely rises at all, it's like shooting a 10/22.

If your rifle is new, then Bushmaster will exchange out the mini-y comp barrel for a barrel of your choice (post-ban of course) for a small fee. I had a mini-y light barrel and they let me exchange it to an AK brake equipped heavy barrel for I believe $40.00. Call customer service and tell them you are unsatisfied with the mini-y and I'm sure they will help you.

The worst brake I ran into was a guy on a bench next to me shooting a braked .300 Weatherby. Even with earplugs, it hurt!!!!

Once the AWB sunsets, you'll see brakes go back heavy recoiling rifles where they belong. Brakes made their appearance on small caliber rifles for cosmetics only. It's not that they don't work, it's that they are completely unnecessary. I have one rifle with a brake (a SLR95MB), and I hate it (the brake that is, the rifle is otherwise great).
