Over the last week my dryer has gotten very noisy. It still works fine but sounds like it is getting ready to fly apart. I doesn't really vibrate any harder thought. Cause?

There's a bearing in the back of the drum. There may also be slide bearings in the front that the drum rim rides on.
If you've got a "squeak..squeak..squeak" sound, it's almost certainly those bearings.
They're usually all replaceable, but a little tricky.
