If we took off a month around here it would look like The Purge. The only thing keeping the criminals from getting slaughtered around here are the police. It would be kind of rough at first and there would be some long running blood feuds in the aftermath, but Appalachia could definitely exist without police. I'm not sure anyone with half a brain would want to live like that, though.
I'd definitely be stocking up on 5.56 and 9mm if we planned on walking out. |

Who else will arrest gun owners, business owners, and people going to church? You?!
They can't quit. If they were not cops they would be working Mall Security or flipping burgers at Micky D's. It's not like your average cop has any other marketable skills. It's not like they could go be a hair dresser or mechanic. |

Quoted: I want cops nationwide to take a month off, not answer a single 911 call. People will change their tunes real quick. View Quote I did the job for 20 yrs ( London UK ). During which we had a reform after our chief stated we were institutionally racist. Afterwards, lots of cops just stopped dealing with black youths. Just drove past and pretended they did not see. It just was not worth the hassle. Most people would just take their citation or ticket or arrest. Black youths wanted to fight over everything - especially once they realised we were scared of lawsuits. And most of my 20 was before social media and cameras everywhere. I got the job done without fear of armchair experts looking at video, frame by frame. The same arm chair experts who cheer the movie cop beating a confession from a bad guy. If I had a son, I would advise against joining. If he insisted, I would tell him to go for a cushy boring evidence store job etc asap - dealing with the public is walking through a minefield - sooner or later you get chopped off at the knees. My 20 were all street patrol. I was a fucking idiot. I would give full support to a nationwide 3 day strike or blue flu. Give them the police free state they want for 3 days. If they like it, great. But I predict they will beg for the return of policing - with its imperfections. |

View Quote This is something the left and those calling for the police to be disbanded simply don’t realize. Without the cops to deal with the problems of society, the law abiding will quickly become the ones dishing out justice. And I firmly believe that those folks, in a world without cops would be much faster to use deadly force on all levels of criminals simply to end them swiftly and absolutely. On the flip side of things if y’all did sit this one out for a month or so, the community you would return to would be much more peaceful and polite, it might smell awful until the hogs and buzzards finished dining on the dead bodies. |

It seems many are quitting. I think most are just trying to weather the storm, hoping for sanity to return. Being a cop is all they know, and by far the best paying job for their current skillset. The especially good ones do it out of a sense of moral obligation and a refusal to leave their communities to the wolves, and the especially bad ones may be hoping the backlash to all this eventually makes them legally invincible.

Quoted: Not sure about APD but our local SO’s policy is that deadly force is authorized if a suspect has an officer’s taser. Brooks already showed he was willing to fight officers to resist arrest - why wouldn’t a reasonable officer believe he would be willing to use the Taser as well? He had already taken it and pointed it at the officers. Is it unreasonable to assume he’d use it and take a sidearm? Whether you think that policy is inappropriate is a separate issue - you can’t train guys one way then fire them when they do it. It seems the only options left for LE are: A) Let anyone run away who resists arrest B) Be vilified in the press, lose your job, and face charges if you defend yourself C) Put your life in the hands of a stranger who’s already assaulted you. View Quote Clown World doesn’t care what the policy says, or why it’s there. If you shoot a black guy after he fights with you and steals your Tazer, you will be fired and a Wendys will be burned and sacrificed to appease the angry gods. |

Georgia is taught that. I was for 10yrs. When a suspect attempts to use a taser against you it’s deadly force escalation.

Quoted: Play stupid games and win stupid prizes. For some reason it is now considered taboo that when you fight a cop you could die. Blacks seem to love doing this for whatever reason they can come up with and then the whole world is surprised when the criminal is killed. That criminal normally has a lengthy record and drugs in his/her system to boot. I don't fuck with them, they don't fuck with me. This has worked for over two decades for me. Quoted: I understand why some people used to become police. The same reason some people become teachers or join the military and it ISN'T the money. The fact that there are any new recruits wanting to become police is what baffles me. Put your life on the line daily for many people who have no respect for any authority, do everything by the book or else you will be hung to out to dry by media, communities, your bosses and half your co-workers. It isn't about helping and serving anymore. This is a very sad day in America. View Quote A lot of this the police did to themselves. A great many went full retard during the Covid19 hoax (The virus was real, the reaction was the hoax) or went along with obviously deranged liberal mayors/governors or whoever. Though it was the tiniest of minorities of police officers pulling stupid shit like arresting some father playing catch with his kids or a mother and child off a park bench, or worse the fucking retarded faggots that went after the guy paddleboarding literally a mile from another human being, it was televised and the media ran with it and it did significant damage to people's opinion of L.E. What their actions did was alienate those who are traditionally the largest supporters of Law Enforcement. Then this Floyd shit kicked off and the police, at least in the cities, have no support from anyone. The left wants them to go away because... actually I have no fucking idea why they want them gone, they're who ensures their survival. The right wants them gone so they can flip the switch from simmer to "Deep Fat Fry" and go meet violence with overwhelming violence. |

Cops go to work for the same reason you do, mortgage, kid needs braces, groceries, medical bills. That sweet pension plan ? A lot of that Pension comes out of your check monthly, just like the $980.00 per month for dependent coverage insurance on the family. Most cops work extra jobs to make ends meet no big bonuses here. All so they can get cursed and spit on or sold out by some politician wanting to be reelected. Or the second guessers who sat on their ass in an officer chair and tell the world what they should or should do all while they have their finger up their own ass.
